Weale arrived at City after somewhat losing his way at Bristol City, where he made just nine appearances in goal following his switch from hometown club Yeovil Town.
After various loan spells away from Ashton Gate, including former club Yeovil, Weale signed for Leicester in July 2009 with the hope of becoming the club's first-choice stopper. He was a regular starter in the 2009-10 campaign but will be remembered by a lot of Leicester fans for his huge error in the game against Derby County in March of that season. Looking to trap the ball from a simple back-pass, Weale missed the ball and it trickled into the back of the net to give the Rams a 1-0 win.
He since struggled in goal for the Foxes, failing to win the confidence of the City fans and being more used to sitting on the bench than making saves in a City shirt.
