Centre-forward Brunton's spell at Fosse came very much against the grain, with the Burnley-born hitman spending the vast majority of his footballing career taking place in his home county of Lancashire.
He played just six games at Leicester in total, following spells with Burnley, Preston North End and Accrington Stanley amongst others, and returned to the Red Rose county after just a year with Fosse, to play for teams including Stanley, Oldham Athletic and Darwen.
Brunton caught the attention of Fosse after bagging 40 goals in Accrington's Lancashire Combination League winning side. But he couldn't recapture that form in Leicestershire and he stint with the Foxes lasted less than a year.
His debut came away at Blackpool in September 1904 but Brunton went on to make just four more league appearances for the club.
