Playing just one league game for Fosse, Harper's time at the club was brief - arriving at the club from Coalville Town in August 1904 and making his debut the following January at Burton United before moving on to Derby County just a few months later.
He was largely a reserve player for the club but was given his chance to impress when being promoted for that game at Burton. However, competition was stiff in his left-back role and it was to be his only game in the famous blue and white.
He moved to Derby but didn't get any first-team action there and finished his career with Hugglescote United.
As well as being a keen footballer, Harper also played rugby before his time with Leicester, often alternating between the two sports on a week-to-week basis.
