The left-back made his name at Ipswich Town, making almost 200 appearances for the Portman Road club, before moving on to play for Birmingham City and Wolverhampton Wanderers en-route to his sixth-month stint at the Walkers Stadium in 2008.
Clapham was signed on a short-term contract after falling down the pecking order at Wolves. Ian Holloway brought him in to offer more experience to young Joe Mattock. Clapham's arrival failed to stop City suffering relegation that season, however, and he soon departed in the close season with no new deal on the table.
He moved to Notts County and made 70 appearances for the Mapgies before playing for Lincoln City and Kettering.
