The outside-left arrived at Fosse during the early years of his footballing career, signing after starting his career with Long Eaton Rangers. He arrived in 1898 and made his debut in a home clash against Gainsborough Trinity in October of that year.
He was part of the Leicester team that just missed out on promotion that year and battled against Welsh international Ernie Watkins for a starting role. It was to prove his only campaign with the club when he moved on to play for Ilkeston Town. Spells with Stapleford Town, Castle Donington Town and Long Eaton St Helens followed before he hung up his boots.
Fulwood was part of a sports-mad family and one of his brothers also had trials with Leicester in 1906 but he didn't do enough to earn a full deal with the club.
Bennie made 11 league starts for Fosse in total, scoring three goals, and also netted twice in as many FA Cup outings.
