Wing wizard Marshall was another player to impress on-loan at another club in the 2011-12 campaign before City eventually snapped him up on a permanent deal for the remainder of that campaign.
Coming through the youth ranks at Stoke City, the Salford-born winger was sent out for loan stints with Northampton Town, Cheltenham Town and Carlisle United - the latter on two occasions - before his stock really increased with some top-drawer appearances for Sheffield Wednesday in the 2011-12 season.
Blessed with an ability to bamboozle defenders, provide a killer cross and score some top-class strikes, Marshall was another Nigel Pearson signing. He took some time to settle in to life with the Foxes but he soon started to show his class towards the end of his first season at the King Power Stadium, scoring some eye-catching goals and providing others on a plate.
