Leeds-born Deane, who will forever hold the record of becoming the first ever player to score in the Premier League, when he netted after five minutes for Sheffield United against Manchester United in the inaugural season in 1992, pulled on the City shirt between 2001-03 and scored 19 goals in 56 appearances for the club.
A big, powerful target man, Deane arrived at Leicester after three years with Middlesbrough and scored the first competitive goals at the Walkers Stadium, when he netted twice in a 2-0 win over Watford. Like Les Ferdinand, Deane perhaps arrived at City in his twilight years, but he still had plenty to offer.
