Making his Foxes debut at home against Newcastle United in August 1994, City snapped-up midfielder Draper from Notts County a few months earlier.
Draper helped County to back-to-back promotions, as well as suffering relegation and then to a Wembley appearance in the final of the Anglo-Italian Cup. He'd won caps for the England U21s, too, and it was this form that attracted City to his services.
Draper's City debut was somewhat overshadowed by a glaring penalty miss, but enjoyed a productive spell at the club under Brian Little. Little actually twice came back to try and take Draper to Aston Villa when he went on to manage at Villa Park. Little shelled out £3.25 million for his services after failing with an initial £3 million bid and he soon won his first major medal with Villa's 1996 League Cup triumph.
He had the experience of playing in La Liga, during a loan stint with Rayo Vallecano, before returning home to play for Southampton before announcing his retirement.
