The Bolton-born midfielder became one of Nigel Pearson's first signings during the summer of 2008. Following hot-on-the-heels of the arrivals of Michael Morrison and Lloyd Dyer, Pearson saw plenty of potential in a player who'd already excelled in the lower leagues with Bury, where he came through the youth system. But he struggled to make a starting place his own at the Walkers Stadium and played just eleven times in the league that season, being very much a bit-part player in the club's promotion season.
The Welsh U21 international went on to make eight appearances for the Foxes in the Championship but, due to his lack of first-team action, the writing was always on the wall and he left the Walkers Stadium on-loan in January 2009 to get more first-team action with Rochdale for a month. He was also sent out on-loan to Leyton Orient before leaving City on a permanent basis for Brentford.
