Nottingham-born Arthurs had two spells at Newton Heath, later to be known as Manchester United, before moving to Fosse after his second spell. He was a member of Gainsborough Trinity's Midland League championship side as an outside-left, but converted to more defensive roles later in his career.
He made his debut in the blue and white in April 1893 in an away clash at Newark and soon went on to become club captain and regular centre-half, making 37 Football League appearances, 23 in the Midland League and 14 in the FA Cup. He even notched up two goals along the way.
He later played at left-back in Fosse's Second Division campaign but was suspended several times by the club late on in his Foxes career before moving on to finish his playing career with Notts County.
Henrys also ran a tobacco business on Welford Road whilst he was still playing for Fosse.
