Centre-forward Gordon arrived at Fosse, then known as Fosse, in their very first season in the Football League in 1894 from Aston Villa, making his debut in the FA Cup clash with Kimberley at home in November of that season.
The Scot's stay was relatively brief, moving on to Woolwich Arsenal in the summer of 1985 after making 25 appearances in all competitions for Fosse, netting a good return of 14 goals.
Gordon was a strong forward player, and one of a number of forwards used in that season as the Foxes management looked for the perfect attacking line-up. He'd already impressed for Villa in the opening matches of that season and made an instant impact on his arrival before swiftly moving on to Arsenal for a fee of £30.
