Fincham made a half-century of league appearances for City between 1952-1958, when he then moved on to play for Plymouth Argyle and Luton Town.
He was a well-respected centre-half but saw his games limited due to military duties - he was still on National Service with the Army Catering Corps when he made his Leicester debut. When he did manage regular appearances, during the 1955-56 campaign, he picked up an unfortunate injury which saw him sidelined for the next two seasons.
It proved his final act in a City shirt and he went to Home Park and Plymouth to try and rebuild his career after the injury set-back. The Pilgrims actually won the Third Division championship in his first season there but he suffered relegation with Luton, spelling the end of his career.
