The Falkirk-born centre-back impressed during his time north of the border with Celtic and, after moving to England with Preston North End, City forked out £7,000 earned from an cup run for his services at the start of the 1949-50 season.
After playing in the reserves he made his breakthrough in the first time in October of the same year at Bury but, after manager Johnny Duncan departed the club, he failed to win over incoming boss Norman Bullock and was soon placed on the transfer list.
In total Corbett made 17 appearances for the Foxes in all competitions but he simply failed to live up to his early-career form - something which followed him in his career after Leicester. Corbett went on to play for Yeovil Town before moving back to Scotland with Dunfermline Athletic and Morton.
