Scottish-born Jarvie spent a year at Leicester between August 1925 and October 1926 but amassed just five Football League appearances, with his debut being a baptism of fire against Manchester United.
He arrived at newly-promoted City as back-up goalkeeper for Albert Godderidge and couldn't make the number one jersey his own, especially after the arrival of Kenny Campbell to help plug Leicester's defensive problems.
Jarvie moved on for spells with Portsmouth, Southend United and Norwich City before bringing his career to a close at Shrewsbury Town. After football he had a job as a refuse collector in Leicester.
