Duffy was signed in his veteran years in the first post-war season and although he scored on his debut at home against Bristol City, he made just three more appearances for the Foxes in a brief stint with the club.
Duffy had played for Brentford, Middlesbrough, Newcastle United and Bury before Peter Hodge brought him to Leicester and his debut came at a then-record age of 36 years and 72 days. He was known for his pace, but that had gone by the time he arrived at the club.
After his retirement from the game he became a headmaster on Tyneside.
