Making his debut in a local derby at Nottingham Forest in September 1911, King was useful back-up for Shirley Hubbard and Fred Osborn when he made the switch to Leicestershire from Hull City.
He arrived at the club as a youngster and probably impressed the Leicester scouts with a five-goal haul for City's reserves in a fixture the year before his switch to Fosse.
After four goals in eight appearances in all competitions King moved on to Goole Town just a year after his spell with Leicester.
