The reliable Scot arrived at City, then known as Fosse, with a wealth of experience that showed in each of his three seasons at the club.
Playing at left-half, Goldie started his career at hometown club Hurlford Thistle before his impressive performances took him to Clyde and then a big move south of the border to Liverpool, where he stayed for five years before enjoying another five-year stint in the capital with Fulham.
Leicester was the next club on his agenda in August 1908 and he made his debut against Sheffield Wednesday a month later. He was coming towards the end of his senior playing career whilst at the club but still produced a solid three years, with tough tackles and some good passing aiding the Foxes.
He had the experience of being an ever-present in Liverpool's first-ever championship winning side in 1901 and helped Fulham to two Southern League titles. It helped him become a regular with Fosse and he played 88 times in all competitions for the club, even adding one goal along the way.
