Kaebi was an Iranian international when he arrived at the Walkers Stadium in the summer of 2007 under the management of Martin Allen - a rare sight in the English leagues.
The right-sided defender or midfielder was seen as a talented individual but someone who perhaps missed the physical approach to the English game. His talents were such that he got his international debut aged 16 and had also featured in the Asian Cup, the Asian Champions League and the 2006 World Cup Finals.
City gave him a two-year contract and he made his debut in August at home against Watford, but failed to cement a regular starting role, instead being left to feature for the reserves. Hossein's only starts actually came when Allen's brief stint as Foxes boss came to an end and Ian Holloway took charge, but those starts were limited and he was told to find a new club before Christmas.
He remained on the club's books until February 2008, where he rejoined Persepolis, from whom he arrived in Leicestershire. It was a successful return, with the player helping the club to the Iranian championship.
