Garraty arrived at Fosse in September 1908 as a bit of legend at Aston Villa - he'd netted 112 goals in 259 games for the club before they let him leave.
He'd played locally around Birmingham before Villa gave him his back chance. However, his short stint as a Fox didn't go to plan. He stayed just seven weeks, failing to score in the six games he played in. He was capped for England and had won FA Cup and League medals with Villa.
He arrived at Fosse very much on his twilight years but he still had plenty to offer, something which was proven when his relatively ill-fated spell at Fosse saw him move on to West Brom, where he enjoyed better fortunes in front of goal.
Garraty finished his career with Lincoln City before returning to Birmingham to be a lorry driver.
