  1. McKenna might be retained but he has a lot in the bank with successive promotions from League one and the Championship.
  2. Atmosphere was a bit strange yesterday. It seemed that about 1/3 rd were not regulars and of course expectations were zero. I suppose after 16 defeats in the last 18 games just being level at half time made a change and most were happy enough. That is how far things have fallen
  3. I thought club was planning for next season and giving youngsters a chance to develop? .
  4. I’ve heard these comments about Leicester’s fan base being entitled and unrealistic in their expectations multiple times- usually by journalists and pundits who don’t watch them regularly. IMO most City fans are realistic but this year the recruitment has barely added to the first 11, there has been very little encouragement for the younger players and so little energy on the pitch. Ruud has been talking up the youth being the future of the club but he hasn’t taken risks until the season is virtually done. I was totally expecting a relegation scrap this season but we seem to have been way too negative from day one
  5. I was expecting an announcement after the Newcastle game but I don't think the club want to be seen to be sacking 2 managers in the same season. The performances of other promoted clubs has given the manager some more leeway than normal. I suspect it could even come down to the Southampton and Ipswich games. If City are second best in those games I cannot see any possibility that Ruud will be given a shot at the Championship.
  6. Barnes looks so much fitter at Newcastle than he did at Leicester
  7. Why on earth has Mav been benched for most of the season and surprised to see him subbed when causing havoc
  8. I’d hoped Ricardo could have started. Central midfield Winks still out of favour I don’t think Soumare offers enough but it looks like the manager rates him. At least there are 4 attacking players so more changes than usual
  9. We are 38 pages into a new manager thread but you we know if anyone at the club has even spoken to Ruud about the future in recent days? I didn't get that impression listening to the press conference.
  10. My take on this was that if the squad isn’t good enough or don’t play to their potential then changing the formation won’t do very much. The comment that Leicester are between Southampton and Ipswich as promoted sides played down what expectations should be. Of course he has a point but is it helpful?
  11. I think delaying any decisions about the future of RVN or other management will have tipped a lot of people who were on the fence into cancelling their subscription. Talking to people that were there on Monday most had renewed but there was almost an entire row of empty seats in front and people leaving after half an hour shaking their heads. I don't suppose the club will release the figures.
  12. I think a number of decent people won't fancy the Leicester job for many reasons whether it be financial or unrealistic expectations. Big name managers from abroad like Ancelotti might sound a little more exciting than some but they won't know just how shambolic the last 9 months has been or be familiar with the players/Championship. Rosenior or Corberan would IMO be good but of course how much more compensation will Leicester be able to afford and would they be interested?
  13. The club is in free fall and the lack of change on and off the pitch is a huge concern considering the performances we have seen. Perhaps someone external needs to look at the structure of the club and give the Chairman independent advice. Leicester don’t want another summer of uncertainty and a shambles of a preseason.
  14. Watching Barnes last night he made a few mistakes but his running and work rate was streets ahead of most of the City players. He deserves the success he is having and the applause from the home fans.
  15. After Daka hit both posts and into the hands of the keeper there was a sort of feeling night that nothing would change. Amazingly Leicester could have scored from the kick off with ironic cheers from the kop that we nearly scored. It could get worse with Liverpool at home next up.
  16. I've always enjoyed watching Newcastle there is usually a bit of banter with the away fans and of course Harvey Barnes may be in their side always interesting to see how ex players react. I've got a few things to do in Leicester today so I'll be there tonight but if it is another game with 8 or 9 defenders essentially no changes and no goals scored I might leave it there for the season. I'll get behind the lads but need to see some effort and ambition. Just looking on the website at tickets there will be a lot of empty seats and totally understand why
  17. It would be nice if we don't set up with 8 defenders and at half time add another. I'm sure Newcastle will win whatever we do but concentrating on being solid/compact has done nothing to stem the tide so agree might as well at least show some ambition
  18. The comments on BBC sport are critical to say the least. However I agree with his comments that Leicester went for damage limitation at half time in Manchester in taking Vardy off and adding a defensive midfielder. It must have been a frustrating watch for those who travelled and have seen City win at the Etihad in the past
  19. It is all about setting the ground rules with players at the onset. This doesn't sound like the time to introduce changes or setting examples surely it can wait until the summer. The club needs to be sending out the best possible squad and it worries me that Winks is not part of that.
  20. Agree asking Winks to stay over for a night doesn't seem excessive. I wonder how he was asked and how much the manager engages with some of the players particularly with the lack of squad rotation
  21. I can’t help thinking that the embarrassment of another potential sacking within such a short period is allowing Ruud more time.If Ipswich and Southampton pick up a few points and Leicester’s run continues it might be sooner. No replacement is going to want to start by adding relegation to their CV.
  22. Tricky one. The club would have to insist on a huge drop in wages and if he stays the usual complacency could set in and no serious attempt made to find a replacement. Daka didn't score many last season and one this term so Leicester are going to need to recruit 2 more strikers at least if he goes. On balance I think Jamie deserves a new opportunity maybe abroad for one more season but I hope he remains linked to the club in the future in some role maybe motivational
  23. Although Winks has had a tough season he does have quality on the ball and agree it is the fee Leicester paid for Skipp that is the biggest issue he is not a bad player. Soumare is too inconsistent and watching the highlights was jogging back for the first goal and not getting the challenges in which has been a problem before. I accept he has had a few decent games earlier in the season. I'd really like a major overhaul in midfield next week as only Bilal seems to be creating anything and that is very limited. Leicester need to look at the whole squad with a view to the Championship and fringe players need a run out. I'm not saying the squad has been good enough all season but it has underperformed due to increasingly negative tactics which have had no impact on goals conceded whilst draining confidence going forward
  24. The decision to take Vardy off at half time for tactical reasons clearly indicated that at 2 0 games are written off. But to be honest the latest changes with 2 strikers giving the impression on paper of a threat with almost zero support won’t work IMO. There is a lack of quality and goals from midfield and I wonder what players like Ricardo, Winks. Mavididi and Facundo have to do to get a starting place when we need to take a few risks to create something
  25. Expected goals 0.02 only 1 attacking midfielder and so little creativity. All too negative. At least Ipswich and Southampton are managing to get on the scoresheet things with Leicester so predictable
