Was announced as a one-off thing. Tbh I’m hearing very positive reviews as well and during that match I’ve spotted multiple supporters who had already bought this. Personally I’m quite positive as well, the gold resembles the colour of Stella and looks quite nice. I would not mind at all if we play with this as first kit next season, but for me anything is better than white, which does not really stand out. Poor decision when founding the club to go for white, either the combo of green black red (colours of the three clubs that merged into OHL in 2002) or an entirely different but standout colour would’ve been better. That being said, also have to admit the 2023-24 home kit is at least better than those of the prev 5 seasons.

Definitely expecting one or two surprising results on the final matchday. OHL has had good opportunities each of the last few matches, but our strikers won’t score, even against Union SG and Club Brugge we could have gone up one or two goals early on. Meanwhile Charleroi, Eupen, Kortrijk are very poor but they get an occasional win :/ (RWDM also bad but they keep losing except for the draw with… OHL). We should’ve never ended up in this position tbh with the squad we have… one decent goalscorer making 10 in a season and would’ve been entirely diff ballgame. Good thing we have playoffs at least. Either we beat Mechelen, avoid relegation POs and party into Monday, or we have some very exciting matches coming up over the next six weeks.

Not at all. Felt like we were forced to use him (Thamsatchanan) for commercial reasons tbh (he was the captain and no1 of the Thai national team) and received a five-year juicy contract from what I heard, for a team at that time struggling in second div that was painful budget-wise. He had some decent matches but really wasn’t anything special. Think he was about same level as our local keeper at that time (Gillekens, later released, then Mouscron, now second keeper at Westerlo just fyi). Got surpassed after a while, loaned to team in Japan where he never played. Came back after a year as third goalkeeper, when many ppl had forgotten he was still an OHL player but due to injuries of others he actually made one or two more apps. Then loaned to Thai team in fourth year of his contract. After that transferred permanently to another Thai team, huge news in Thailand, but barely mentioned anywhere here. Not even sure if it was even mentioned on the OHL website when he left. Expecting much more impact from the new Thai guy but will be culture shock. Could turn out a dud, but then again now it’s Leicester loaning him which says smth, Thamsatchanan was never a Leicester player but directly at OHL.

After such a great game yesterday with even the excitement of other matches starting to go our way and more ppl looking at their phone than the pitch + THAT strike and action. Such a shame we won't see the team anymore until end of July :'(

There is no benefit to either group, they just don’t want to show half points in the standings, so they round up. But when teams are tied after the playoffs, first tiebreaker is to remove any half points added pre-playoffs. Points halving was introduced bc they wanted to make the playoffs more exciting and starting from zero points was deemed unfair (once qualified all remaining matches for that team during regular season would be irrelevant). Note that the teams specifically asked to keep the halving when discussing the new format… but every season at the start of the playoffs the team in the lead is complaining.

Summary: 16 teams first play regular season of 30 matchdays. then: * top 6 in title playoffs. 10 matchdays. Start with half the pts from regular season. * teams 7 through 12 in Europe playoffs. 10 matchdays. Half points from regular season kept as well. Winner plays against 4th team (or 5th depending on who wins cup) from title playoffs for final European ticket. * teams 13 through 16 play relegation playoffs. 6 matchdays. Here teams keep ALL points from regular season. At the end 13th is saved. 15th&16th relegated. 14th to playoff against 3rd team from div2 for final ticket. That third bullet is most important. Old system had only one team relegating, this is better for the league and more fair to teams in div2 to see 2 or even 3 new teams each season. But also means we need 12th or higher to be safe after regular. Currently 11th, last season 11th and before that 11th as well. That’s Brys for ya… doesn’t win prizes but wins enough not to go down.

Sooo transfers... any news? In his look back on 2022, Brys jokingly asked for some good transfers but not heard anything lately, except that Al-Tamari is being chased by Nantes, since his contract runs out in the summer I would definitely sell now. On another note, apparently Anderlecht is trying to sign Sory Kaba from Midtjylland, would be nice to see him again at Den Dreef
