  1. Depends what you term a £30m player tbh. A fair amount of worse players, with less potential than O'Riley have changed hands for that sort of money by clubs in the premier league, players who you could barely class as a regular professional footballer as yet, the boy Anderson at Newcastle being one example of many. And for the CL, for context, he was awarded UEFA MOTM in 2 of the 6 games last season, looking beyond the stats he had an excellent campaign for us and was a shining light, hence Atletico's interest in him off the back of coming up against him 6 months ago.
  2. Word on the street up here today is that Atalanta have now offered £20m+ with a 20% sell on. Makes sense given they offloaded Miranchuk for decent money midweek. I reckon that'll be enough for us to part with him now unless someone else comes in and sparks a bidding war.
  3. Yeah tore his hamstring early on in the season and then tore both calves at the Asian cup.
  4. This is pretty much spot on. His biggest weakness is he gives the ball away a fair bit which could be exposed in the EPL. That said, you take that part out of his game he isn't anywhere near the same player as most of his effectiveness comes from the risks he takes in the middle of the park. He's a great wee player overall but has really struggled with injury the last 12-18 months. If losing Hatate meant us getting to keep hold of O'Riley for another year it would be a no brainer of a decision for me. In terns of style he's an energetic, attacking, creative midfielder, not really like Winks imo.
  5. Yeah, has unfolded as exactly as most thought it would, crap, sideways pedestrian football, horrific transfers and latterly he’s gone full David Brent in the media due to the pressure we’re under at the moment.
  6. Off to ruin his next club in Saudi with Al Ahli. Never has one man been rewarded for such a consistent level of incompetence. An @rsehole. That is all.
  7. Could do worse, still very rough round the edges but potential is there.
  8. An ex city player too so Maresca should know a fair bit about him already.
  9. Wouldn't be surprised at 1 or 2 decent loans from the City group next season.
  10. Yeah it’s a strange one, knowing Rodgers though it was purely an ego trip coming back, in his head he’ll have thought, watch me make all them love me again. He’s a busted flush as a manager.
  11. Exactly, it’s embaressing. When Clement came in we were 7 points clear, so he’s had a 7 point head start and made an arse of that too. Furthermore, the two victories against Rangers have really saved his skin so far as if even one of them went the other way the league would already be over. I said it on here when he was appointed Leicester manager (being selective with my words I’ll admit to not upset anyone) and once again when he came back to us in the summer, the guys a fraud and the majority of proper fans saw through him right from the start of his return.
  12. We get 1200 tickets for tynecastle Then when you consider the green brigade are 200 of that who have openly opposed his return with banners and protests from the start then, to answer your question no, 1200 isn’t representative of the 60,000 that go every second week. I'll also add in I had a few family members in that stand that day who also hate Rodgers and have been consistent in never wanting him back
  13. Not representative of match going fans whatsoever. If you look at my posts on here when he was reappointed I was saying the same thing.
  14. I'll give you four, Brendan Rodgers Peter Lawell
  15. The board are frauds too tbh and it was them that brought Rodgers back against the will of the fans. I don't want or expect sympathy, just to be clear.
  16. No one, among the fans anyway wanted him back as we know it would turn out this way.
  17. I want Rodgers the fck out of my club now. A charlatan, a fraud and a salesman. He's turned a team of treble winners who playing exciting, fast, front footed football to a team playing at the pace of senior citizens.
  18. Yeah very much so mate. Thing is, I expected this to happen as you'll testify to but not anywhere near so soon. Rodgers usually gets a bounce the first 6-12 months where things improve and then the decline starts. He's just decided to start the decline from day one this team. We've lost two players from a side that won the treble. that played over the previous two seasons perhaps the most attractive football I've seen in a Celtic side and Rodgers has set fire to that, and bar O'Riley made everyone else regress. We've went from a team that played at the speed and splendour of a ferrari to a decrepit pensioner on a zimmer frame.
  19. Sure is, hopefully he's chased out of town soon.
  20. Have to agree with this, definitely not a vintage crop across both teams.
  21. Not true, he's actually been a great signing for us and that's coming from someone who never liked him previously. He was great last season and the one before but time is beginning to catch up with him now and he should probably have been replaced in the summer.
