  1. The B team play in a competitive league, against semi-pro teams, equivalent of non-league in England. His career hasn't been stop start at all really, he's not featured because plainly he's not been good enough and hasn't developed since bursting onto the scene at 16. He was out injured for 6 months this season but that was his own fault, had he taken Celtic's medical advice and got an Op right away he would have been back in 12 weeks. I agree he probably needs to leave and start his career afresh but that needs to happen somewhere he's going to get a fair crack at first team football and he'll have to adjust his expectations in that sense. Bouncing about on loan won't be the answer either, He's nowhere near good enough to threaten the Celtic team so I can't understand at all why Leicester would be a good move for him, he'd be even further away from first team football. Serious question have you seen much of him at all other than the videos when he was in his early teens?
  2. I think people are getting carried away with Dembele without really having seen him play. In his fleeting appearances for the first team this season he's looked way out his depth. I've seen a few B team games he's played in this season also and he isn't even standing out in those.
  3. You've obviously not seen much at all of Karamoko in the last couple of years. I'd be amazed if he was ready to compete for a place in the Celtic side in a year's time let alone the Leicester side. As can happen he simply looks like another childhood prodigy that hasn't developed as everyone hoped and expected.
  4. I remember listening to OpenGoal (Scottish football podcast) where they were interviewing Andy Robertson and he explained exactly this.
  5. As long as you guys don't come snooping about for Ange
  6. I said this way back when he was first appointed, he's a great coach but he's truly awful in the transfer market when left to his own devices. The absolute key thing I said back then was keeping him reigned in and working within the existing and very successful transfer model and not letting him go off piste. The problem is Rodgers builds up capital with high placed finishes, FA cup victory and gets ahead of himself and wants to dictate transfer policy. He needs to become aware that this is not his strong point and that he needs to delegate this or it will forever be his achilles heel in terms of how successful he is overall.
  7. All set up for a cracker at Celtic park on Sunday, a victory for us means that Rangers could only mathematically win it on goal difference and would have to win each of their remaining games 5 or 6 nil. Would be great to virtually win it at Celtic park but would bite the hand off anyone that offered me a point also!
  8. Fair enough mate, like you say we can agree on the appointment of Ross' replacement being a disaster.
  9. They still got there, that's the key thing and Hibs didn't. That kinda reinforces my point in what I said at the outset, had they stuck with Ross at least and not gambled on Maloney they probably would be sitting top 6.
  10. Our refs are unbelievably shit and I think they'll continue to make a host of shit calls even with VAR but if it reduces the number of them from what it is now then it can only be a postive thing.
  11. Turns out that it was Morton that were the sole club that voted against VAR, citing the cost and detrimental effect on "fan experience". Quite a strange one given they won't have to pay a penny given they aren't and are never likely to be in the top flight.
  12. This guy isn't close to being good enough.
  13. Need to agree to disagree mate, sacking a manager a few months into the season who finished third place the season previous (as good as it gets generally for Hibs) is the very definition of jumping the gun. Motherwell went on a similar run, also lost their best player and main goalscorer but stuck by their manager and ended up finishing inside the top 6, unlike Hibs. Dundee Utd also endured a torrid run at one point in the season, again stuck by their manage and again finished top 6.
  14. What MacKay done was shocking but is in no way comparable to Goodwillie imo.
  15. They beat Rangers 3-1 in the semi-final not long before they sacked him which wasn't exactly Hibs'ing it. He had Hibs consistently third in the table and like I said, when he left they were around 4pts off fourth place. It's hard to say as Boyle leaving in January and not being replaced was a huge blow to any manager but Ross had enough credit in the bank to warrant a shot at turning it around imo.
  16. Yeah I get that but it seems to have been forgotten about now, up here anyway. He's widely reported to be the front runner at the moment.
  17. Hahaha! Yeah the way they got rid of Ross was really sh!tty. They sacked him the week before the Cup final he got them to. They were actually 7th in the league at the time but it was a bit of a false economy as all season there were like 4pts between 10th and 4th position. Had Ross stayed in charge Hibs would have finished top 6 I reckon.
  18. There are a couple of Hibs fans on the Celtic forum I frequent and they are livid at the thought of him getting the job and said most of the support are of the same mindset. I think it can be traced back to how he left Hibs (mid-season as part of a dressing room revolt while club captain) when he went to Rangers and the fact his latter two stints (don't think you could even call his third spell that) he was terrible. He also apparently had a daily record column in his short spell with Hibs the third time and was quite scathing of the club which upset a lot of Hibs fans and they don't seem to have forgotten about that. I doubt hamming up his affection for Rangers when he does media stuff does him any favours in the hibs fans eyes either. In Scotland Hibs fans traditionally are quite aligned with Celtic in their disdain for Rangers and Hearts are the same in the opposite sense towards Celtic.
  19. True, but you have to blame the owners there I think. I'm sure Maloney outlined his vision when they were talking to him and the owners obvioulsy backed that at the time. Was a crazy decision in the first place sacking Jack Ross. Yeah it's not coming in until December though, peak Scottish football sort of stuff like that.
  20. Think the main driver is so the Scottish referee's stay on the UEFA/FIFA gravy train. There was a danger they weren't going to be selected for European football going forward as they weren't experienced enough using VAR. God help Europe, our referees are terrible.
  21. Hibs fans hate him now, would be surprised given that and the fact they already went for an inexperienced manager in Maloney and that never worked out. I think it'll be Malky MacKay.
  22. Double will do just nicely Rangers deserved that one on Sunday, were by far the better team on the day.
  23. Transfermrkt has him listed as 'both' for feet, I've actually seen him play on both sides against Scotland also and look equally as good. He's also comfortable playing as a 10 which would provide better cover for Maddison than nothing at all which is pretty much the case at the moment. Moot point if it's a done deal to Fulham.
