  1. Yeah £25m+ gets offered in the summer and Lawell will be driving him to his next club himself.
  2. Good post and I get your logic about teams playing a low block but even at that Vardy would rattle in 40+ goals up here for fun. Griffiths in his prime a few seasons back was similar in style, playing on the shoulder of defenders and he got 42 goals that season.
  3. That’s a fair enough opinion, I naturally disagree with parts of it but ultimately there may not be much between the players at the moment, not forgetting Nacho was a £25m player which Edouard probably is now, I guess the key is who will unlock the most of their potential and the big question mark would be could Eddy step up to EPL level and keep developing. One bit I would disagree on having seen a fair bit of both is the playmaker aspect of it, I think Eduoard is miles in front here in terms of his ability to create chances for others and running at defences from deep, Nacho for me is more of a traditional number 9 than Eddy though and if both were at Celtic I’d fancy him to pretty easily out score eddy.
  4. Remember seeing him against us in the champions league a few years back for Monchengladbach and was really impressed with him. He’s lost his way a bit at Southampton but same can be said for a lot of players during what has been a period of turmoil for them, look at someone like Armstrong who slipped by the wayside in said period and has now come out the other side of it and is playing well and scoring goals. No reason why the same can’t be the case with Vestergard, albeit at Leicester. He’d defo improve your options at centre back in terms of cover imo and for £15m which is a snip in EPL terms I think this wouldn’t be a bad move to make at all. Get him in now and go out and spend big on a new real first choice centre back in the summer with the carrot of having qualified for the CL and you are looking very strong overall at CB. Then you can give us Benkovic for £7m :-P
  5. Those are very good numbers and I’d wager he’ll improve them further before the end of the season. If someone offered you that contribution from Barnes at the start of the season you would have bitten their hands off, important to always look at the bigger picture with young players and ignore the inevitable dips in consistency from time to time.
  6. Glad to see him score again last night, seems to get a lot of unwarranted stick on here from some quarters, he’s a young player with obvious talent so you need to stick with him and tolerate the dips, that’s the only way he’ll get to that level of consistency required to fulfil his potential. His pace and direct running is electrifying when he’s on point. Was a similar situation with us with McGregor.
  7. Superb result and performance by the sounds of things tonight. Think it could be a defining moment in terms of CL qualification with Man Utd losing, can only throw it away now.
  8. I think your being a bit touchy tbh over a single word which accurately describes falling from one position that you were in for a little while to one slightly lower. It doesn't mean that anyone thinks your not having a fantastic season, the word 'slipped'.
  9. Nah UEFA bent the rules and Everton were in the CL qualifier but got knocked out by Villareal
  10. He means best player you have produced, not best player overall since Heskey.
  11. Oi, hands off! He leaves Glasgow over my dead body this window If he's going to play out wide he's far more comfortable off the left side as opposed to the right.
  12. Yeah think it was Villareal that papped them out iirc.
  13. Unless this is a 6 month loan initially then this would be a massive risk imo, Traore has talent but he is the very definition of hot and cold. I really don't see him bringing consistency to his game by stepping up to EPL level right now.
  14. I've thought this for a while, it's like it's reached saturation point in the PL as there's so much moeny sloshing around that clubs can now just set mental valuations on players which in turn leads to grid lock.
  15. Weird one, liked the look of both longstaff brothers whenever I've seen them.
  16. If so very unlucky the set of events that led to him becoming unavailable given injuries to other players at Juve then himself.
  17. Not that irrelevant is it when you've been linked with a host of our players for nigh on a year now and had a bid rejected for one in the summer.
  18. Irrelevant to Leicester and English football in general but thought I'd include our business thus far Patryk Klimala (CF) [Jagiellonia Biallystok - Celtic] £3.5m Ismaila Soro (DM) [Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv - Celtic] £2m Feel like we still need one or two experienced additions to ensure we get over the line and win the league, these seem our typical buy low sell high type of signings that sometimes take around 6-12 months to settle and start contributing.
  19. Fair points. I find it bonkers that folk are advocating leaving him out the next game on the West Ham thread after he's just scored and won a pen in the previous game, talk about smashing someone's confidence to bits.
  20. Soon to be 32 year old who has spent 1 season in his career outside in Germany in Turkey. Would be the very definition of a pointless, crap signing. Highly doubt there is even the slightest shred of truth in the link whatsover.
  21. I think this is spot on, given the start to the season and the cushion you still have despite this ropey spell, Champions League qualification could be a defining factor, one way or the other,
  22. That was certainly the case for us last season anyway, we were dire the first half of the season, think it was one of our worst starts to a season on record then we went on a run of relentlessly winning game after game before and a little bit after he departed.
  23. Could do worse than give him a chance at the moment imo.
