  1. It makes the Perez signing all the more weird. A player, who done fairly well in a counter attacking side, who looks most comfortable playing off a striker and looks like a square peg in a round hole out wide. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but looks like a boo boo spending that money in the summer on Perez and not a genuine wide player/inside forward.
  2. He'd be a great signing, always find it weird how he's ended up at Zagreb. Like @Dahnsouff said this could be very clever future planning, get some daft EPL club to pay some ridiculous fee for Maddison (a la Maguire) and already have Olmo bedded in as his replacement who in the fullness of time is perhaps potentially a better player.
  3. This is really weird as the last 18 months of his time at Celtic there was a problem with the team being leaked and it’s largely dried up since he’s left. I blame Congerton.
  4. I’m not lecturing it’s just an opinion, relax man!
  5. He’s probably one of the best RB’s in the world, why negate his effectiveness somewhat by shoe horning him into somewhere that’s not his position. Just go and sign a wide player and address the problem properly.
  6. Never works pushing a full back further forward, how they receive the ball is totally different further up the pitch.
  7. As good a player as he is I don’t think missing Ndidi is the cause of all ills at all.
  8. Yeah but the point is you haven’t turned in a single decent/complete performance in weeks, there’s an obvious and alarming downward trajectory. It’s not as if your performing below par and grinding out results anyway, your throwing leads away every other week right now.
  9. Yeah my point is though all that would have done is paper over the cracks. The performance overall was poor and flat which has alarmingly been the norm for a number of weeks now.
  10. I get that argument but ignoring the score line it was a very flat performance throughout imo.
  11. That first paragraph, that’s exactly how I’d sum up Rodgers approach at Celtic. Obviously he was insanely successful for us domestically so it’s not a complaint but he’s managing in a league now with a far higher standard of opposition and doesn’t have the luxury of being the top dog in this league where he can expect just to turn up and impose his game on other teams. He reallly needs to start showing he can adapt and change his approach when required as a manager as it’s becoming his Achilles heel imo and it’s becoming easy for teams to set up against.
  12. Barnes scored and done superbly to win a penalty, looking at this game in isolation I’m not sure what more you want from him.
  13. Off topic but the saving grace for CL qualification could end up being how shit Spurs and Man Utd are.
  14. Christ. Wheels look like they are coming off.
  15. Had a bad feeling bout that pen. As an aside, he gets a lot of stick on here but Barnes has been the one that’s made the difference today, done superbly for the penalty there.
  16. What’s the script with Chilwell? Noticed he’s not on the bench so bombed completely? Was Rodgers asked about him pre-game?
  17. He palys LB for Nice a fair bit too, wasn't suggesting selling Ricardo!
  18. Can play right and left, I was talking about him primarily for the left as obviously you don't want to lose Ricardo.
  19. Youcef Atal is the guy you should be going for imo.
  20. Yeah it may well be just that. I wasn't saying it on the basis of selling Chilwell it was more my thinking it wouldn't be the worst move in terms of forward planning to prepare for Fuchs leaving in the summer, Bertrand would be a decent option to rotate Chilwell with, all depends on the price I guess though.
  21. Wouldn't be surprised at this at all, Rodgers has spoken about Bertrand a fair bit in the past about how he mentored him and converted him from a winger to a full back when he was coming through the ranks at Chelsea.
  22. I'd be surprised if he ever featured to the point he contributed much, feels to me like Rodgers is advertising and bigging him up for a departure more than anything else, he done this quite a few times at Celtic, with Efe Ambrose in particular in a very similar way to his comments about Kapustka the other day.
