  1. Is this for real? He was linked with us at Celtic while Rodgers was here. Be worried if this is evidence of working off one of Congerton's lists. In any case buying squad fillers would be the wrong move imo, I know it's more difficult in January to get decent quality but I think you should be plotting your moves more strategically and be looking at another Soyuncu type signing, someone who for the moment could be an able deputy but in a year or two develop to the point they replace Evans.
  2. I don't get that, firstly it says Salah holds the record at 32 then it goes to say Cole and Shearer got 34 in a season which if memory serves me correct was also the premier league era. Is it a deviation based on the fact there were 22 teams in the league and hence more fixtures when Cole and Shearer done it?
  3. Can't see it whatsoever given he's been linked with Real Madrid and also signed a new contract with an even higher release clause. Lisbon wanted circa £80m for him last summer, Leicester ain't paying that.
  4. Yes and if he moves to Lisbon they will do the same.
  5. Some or all of his wages paid I’d assume.
  6. I don’t see it being a factor at all tbh, players leave clubs where they are successful and go on and flop at other clubs all over the world. I doubt any player is sitting thinking I better not move as it may not work out and if they do then I’d question their mentality. I highly doubt this was Vardy’s mentality for staying either it would have been more that he genuinely loves the club.
  7. Come on now, if “look at what happened to Danny drinkwater” is the biggest bargaining chip to keep players at your club then I’d worry. Thankfully you seem to have owners who run the club well enough that there should be a host of tangible attractions to keep players at the club.
  8. We were shocking today, never saw that coming, proper title race now.
  9. Great result here considering the amount of key players left out.
  10. Cheers, seems a daft way to go about it though, could have rested a few per game rather than just make wholesale changes. That said sounds as if uz r doing okay.
  11. Tbf it was even worse in Scotland, think we played 14 games in December one of the years he was here and he never done that. Well like I said he did at Ibrox but that was allegedly more at protest to the board and the fact their relationship had completely broken down by that point.
  12. Late to the party I know but did Rodgers elaborate on his team selection in the pre-match interview? He done similar to this at Ibrox with us this time last year and played Calum McGregor at LB and Mikey Johnstone at centre forward lol! I get the teaching players a lesson part after the last abject performance but this is a bit extreme on the face of it.
  13. Despite that they’ve been vulnerable this season and there for the taking and have dropped a lot of points by their standards. Leicester should have if they flew out the traps against them and played aggressively enough had enough to get something out the game imo. The frustration is from many on this thread I imagine that you ended up playing within yourselves. i don’t want to call it arrogance, maybe stubborness or one dimensional are better terms but Rodgers really needs to sort out this utopia like approach where he thinks he can overplay at the back, pass through any press going and beat teams far superior with that style. Liverpool are the one side In Europe you’d absolutely Not play that way against. One or two posters have said he’ll learn this and I hope I’m wrong but I’m not so sure as it was his Achilles heel at Liverpool and at Celtic and he’s showing no signs of learning from it thus far.
  14. With the greatest of respect Torres ain’t ever happening, Real Madrid have been after him for years and haven’t managed to get him yet.
  15. Yes really, we’re talking about the champions of Europe and the world here and potentially record breaking league champions elect. They are clearly “that good”.
  16. Come on now We’re entering heads have gone territory with that sort of comment.
  17. Was a real sense of deja vu watching that match tonight for me. As great a manager as Rodgers is his stubbornness to stick to his principles and very much the same way of playing, regardless of the opposition is becoming his very obvious Achilles heel. Going toe to toe with Liverpool and trying to beat them at their own game was always going to end up with Leicester getting a sore face if Liverpool were in the mood. Exact same thing happened In the CL regularly when we played Barcelona, PSG, etc and Rodgers clearly still hasn’t learned this lesson. The very top managers can alter their approach and style where and when necessary and find a way to win against sides who are on paper much stronger, Rodgers really needs to start showing he has this in his armoury. Trying to play out from the back against that front three is pure and utter madness and played right into Liverpool’s hands.
  18. Yeah your spot on here that’s exactly what we have at Celtic Park, I quite like the light show tbh.
  19. Just need a rich arab to buy us then we'd maybe have a chance lol!
  20. Not stirring or anything here but Chilwell really does seem to get a harder time than others on here for some reason. I would have thought the opposite would have been the case given he's home grown as well. Seemed a really dedicated, grounded lad from that video interview posted the other week as well. Mahrez when he's in the mood will do that to most left backs in the league, from watching the match I don't think Chilwell not stopping him was the main issue it was the lack of protection from those in front of him, no way should you be letting your full backs be exposed one on one with such regularity.
  21. This is it, it's about balance. I think the fortunate thing for Leicester in recent years is the core of the title winning team is still there, in squad terms at least, so there's not been much requirement to add to that experience, guys like Schmeichel. Fuchs, Vardy, Albrighton, etc all have bundles of experience then clever experienced additions like Evans have supplemented that. There's nothing wrong with buying an off the shelf experienced player, needs must at certain times and by the time all the aforementioned start to decline it may be the case then to look more to experience than youth for a couple of windows. If you then manage to hang on to some of what are now your promising young players then it becomes even easier as these guys transition to the senior members of the squad.
