  1. Never been a massive fan of Smalling but for £13m which is spare change in EPL terms that would be a decent bit of business. Given he's had to man mark Phil Jones for most of his Man Utd career it's maybe unfair to judge him too harshly.
  2. It seems Everton are hell bent on self-destruction, the other people I seen linked with it were some Portugese guy currently managing in China and David Moyes (my mortal fear when Rodgers left was we were going to end up with him).
  3. No better than Hamza imo, in fact debatable if he's even as good at the moment. Would be a strange signing given the strength already at Rodgers disposal in midfield. Fwiw anyone saying Son wouldn't get into the Leicester team wants to go and see the doctor. He's one of the best players in the league and the only side he maybe wouldn't get in is the Liverpool one and even at that you could argue his case.
  4. This. Like a spoiled, petulant child. I don't care what anyone says, given the money he's spent, the clubs he's been at and the players he's had at his disposal he's under achieved since he's left Barcelona.
  5. Henry is the greatest in the EPL for me also, that would matter not a jot to me though if I were a Leicester fan. Wherever Vardy ranks in that list (he's one of the best in EPL history anyway, whatever way you look at it) doesn't matter, he's already immortal, a legend in Leicester fans eyes and that's all that matters. However good Henry, Bergkamp, Shearer, Ronaldo, etc, etc are Leicester fans wouldn't for one minute swap Vardy now or retrospectively for any one of the aforementioned and that's the telling factor. His god like and immortality status among Leicester fans really strikes a chord with me as we had a similar icon, in a similar vein in Henrik Larsson, someone who at his peak could have left and went anywhere (knocked back Man Utd twice for example) but never and that when you combine with the goals, success, memories etc really makes it the most beautiful thing in modern day football where so much is dictated by money to the point mercenaries are aplenty.
  6. That's exactly the reaction he wants tbh, it's his MO as a pundit, to be controversial so folk bite. He was exactly the same with Celtic fans when Deila was the manager and in the latter part of Rodgers time.
  7. Simeone strikes me as one of those guys who is perfect and an excellent manager for Atletico but may struggle to have the same impact anywhere else he goes.
  8. I'm no fan of Sutton the pundit but you have an unhealthy obsession with him. You even reference him in your avatar. Enjoy the crest of the wave Leicester are riding and forget about him.
  9. Think that's generally how it works yeah, that was similarly the case when he left Celtic in terms of the compensation you paid us. That said there's maybe a little more to it as had he left us in the summer we would only have been due £6m compo but because it was mid-season we were due £9m.
  10. Yeah that's right lol! Probably not long ran out that contract lol!
  11. Yeah exactly, Alex Ferguson was a huge advocate of this and I think it's even more pertinent now with the rise of player power in terms of ego and what they now earn.
  12. This. I believe this is how it works for pretty much all managers these days.
  13. It will be interesting to see what happens when the next set of TV rights are up on offer. Amazon if they are encouraged by this dipping the toe in the water type thing would be able to blow Sky, BT and whoever else out the water if they really wanted to.
  14. Great news for Leicester that, five and a half years is a very long contract in terms of managers nowadays.
  15. Chilwell would be daft to go to Chelsea imo
  16. Rodgers will add the end product to this guy's game in terms of goals and assists, absolutely no doubt about, he looks to have all the raw materials and is simply a case of polishing.
  17. Agree with this, stop Grealish and McGinn and you pretty much neutralise Villa on the whole.
  18. A large part of that was that idiot Sarri trying to play him as an attacking midfielder. That said though there's not a better defensive midfielder in the world since 2015 than Kante for me, only Fabinho is now coming close.
  19. I don't think it's fair to say that tbh, if they hit even close to their points total from last season again this season then that's nothing to do with luck, that's tremendous consistency, particularly when you throw a Champions league win in there as well. Even this season it's their consistency again and their ability to find a way to win that's put them where they are. If anything not winning the league with their points total last season was terribly unlucky as in any other year it would have been good enough.
  20. Was this villa fan in a coma for the 2015/1016 season or what.
  21. Think this will be a tough game, Villa look a decent side going forward and at home will likely cause a few problems. That said, they seem to leak goals so with how deadly Leicester have looked on the break I'd be amazed to see Villa keep a clean sheet.
  22. Last night could have been a significant evening in the SPFL title race, Rangers surrender a 2 goal lead at Aberdeen to draw 2-2 and Celtic after getting pegged back to 1-1 in the 90th minute show the grit and determination true champions are made of as we snatched it 2-1 deep into injury time with an inspirational goal from Scott Brown. Two old firm games in a few weeks coming up, cup final on Sunday and then league encounter at Celtic park on the 29th. Win the two of those and Rangers will be demoralised.
  23. Quite surprised at that stat as one of the hallmarks of all Rodgers teams previously was how fast they started games, at Liverpool and Celtic in particular they'd blow most teams away early on.
