  1. Arsenal must be kicking themselves as if they'd signed a decent centre back who can actually defend they'd be comfortably the best of that clutch of clubs imo.
  2. The unfortunate thing for Leicester here may be that Tierney has already gone to Arsenal. I know I'm biased to a degree so factor that in but if you could sell Chilwell for £50-60m and replace him with Tierney for half of that then that is great business and that may very well have happened this coming summer if not for the Arsenal move. Again, aware I'm biased but I think Tierney will prove to be the better player in the fullness of time, he has more quality in an attacking sense from what I've seen of Chilwell.
  3. Atletico's domestic tv revenue from last season was circa 120m euros, add in their continual latter stage Champions league qualification and they probably take in a further 50m euros. Leicester took in £118m in tv revenue last season so Atletico Madrid, given the current exchange rate, extra champions league income, etc take in quite a bit more than Leicester.
  4. Was surprised that singing never worked out, remember at the time thinking it was a coup as he looked amazing with Sevilla.
  5. BBC gossip saying Real Madrid are lining up an £86m + James Rodriguez move for Kante. Do Leicester have a sell-on clause?

No one is saying take unnecessary risks but to get anywhere you need to take calculated risks.
  7. Pretty much most clubs outside the top 1 or 2 in all the major leagues sell an important player every summer and Leicester are no different. It's a necessary evil in today's game and there are a clutch of clubs who use it to their advantage, season in season out, clubs like Dortmund, Atletico Madrid, etc, etc. Liverpool even done it with Coutinho and you could argue selling him allowed them to strengthen the positions that allowed them to properly challenge for the league and also win the Champions league. Ricardo shows that there are players out there to be got at reasonable prices if you look hard enough. I'll say it again if you were to sell Chilwell for £50m+ and source a left footed version of Ricardo you've got a very obvious upgrade there.
  8. If you get £50-70m for Chilwell as has been discussed then you'll have whoever buys him's pants down also.
  9. It may be the case that Brendan/Leicester have only contemplated selling Chilwell since the summer. Fwiw, if the figures being banded about are true then Leicester would be mental to knock back £50-70m for Chilwell. He's a decent player from what I've seen but I'm yet to be convinced he's anything more than that. Like Ric alluded to there is an art of selling a player at the right time and with some decent scouting and planning you could go out and get an upgrade on Chilwell and still have £20m left sitting in the bank.
  10. We tried to sign him last January, £4-5m was the figure being quoted, not seen much of him so no idea if he's any good or what, sort of recall some chat about him picking up quite a lot of injuries though.
  11. Classic case of over-analysing here. Maddison has only recently made the breakthrough into the senior squad, he's not going to drop out because he can't be arsed, he'll be desperate to make an impression in that squad. He has fallen ill, he's a human being and will be susceptible to viruses, colds and whatever else at this time of year like the rest of us.
  12. LOL! It's actually relatively calm at the moment, nothing like mid-August when there was almost a Lawell lynch mob due to lack of transfer activity! We've had a tough run of fixtures so points were bound to be dropped at some stage, a little more than I'd have liked in saying that but confident we'll go on a run and restore natural order.
  13. We're actually sitting second at the moment!
  14. On the theme of twats there's an absolute roasting hot one right there.
  15. It's the case at a few grounds in the SPFL unfortunately. There's two or three clubs who get pitiful crowds like Livingston, Hamilton, etc. Hamilton in particular are a disgrace in terms of their crowds, ground, pitch, etc. Would happily see them relegated never to return. Whereas you have fairly well supported clubs like the two Dundee clubs and Inverness currently in the championship.
  16. Was surprised he didn't end up in England over the summer, a host of championship teams in England were after him but he weirdly signed for Dundee Utd. Rumour goes since then he's the highest paid player in Scotland outside us and Rangers so maybe not so weird at all when you think of it that way. Either way can't see him being there long, should be playing at a higher level.
  17. Giving it more credit than it's due by calling it a carpet lol! Not that I'm detracting from our defeat, which was deserved no matter what type of pitch we were playing on. I hate these pitches though, it's as if the Scottish Football authorities go out their way to try and think of ways to embaress the game up here.
  18. I think Chilwell is a good player, not too much more than that based on what I’ve seen tho, I get the impression he thinks he’s better than he actually is. Ill caveat with the fact I don’t watch him every week so not sure how reliable my opinion is. £50m+ for him would be great business imo and invested correctly I think you could get an upgrade on him with some change left if you look outside England. Someone like Youcef Atal at Nice for example who is going to be a superstar and could be got for reasonable cash.
  19. He’s a centre back and was on loan to Rangers last season so seen a fair bit of him, absolute donkey. Rangers fans would tell you the same.
  20. Not seen the match yet, will catch the highlights on MOTD, sounds as if it was a desperately unlucky affair. If it takes a dodgy last minute penalty to defeat you at the home of the European champions then I'd wager your headed very much in the right direction.
  21. Not saying this is the truth, it's just one interpretation but there's striking parallels with how his relationship soured with the Celtic board in that last 12 months.
  22. Obviously not privy to every single offer he's had but the evidence we do know about speaks for itself. Nor is there anything shameful about leaving for a better offer/club, it's how football works nowadays.
  23. Walked out on Watford to go to Reading, talks about his regret at doing it in his book. Bar the two jobs he was sacked he's jumped ship every time a better offer has come along. There is nothing wrong with that, it's very much the way of it with managers and players these days but thems are the facts. If you guys make top 4/6 and get two full seasons out of him then that's probably good going.
  24. I know what you mean here, Winks is a tidy footballer who likes to sit deep and if you sit off him will pick nice little passes around you but I don't think there is really room for that sort of midfielder in the modern game any longer, you need to be a bit more all action than he is.
