  1. I've not seen too much of Lemina but from what I have doesn't seem as if he's pulled up too many trees at Southampton. Surely giving Choudhury a proper run would be a better approach. Although he seemed a bit rash at times in the Euros he looks to have everything you want in a modern day EPL midfielder and could be a very good player if polished over the next couple of years.
  2. Your hardly proving the point by pasting in a single article from one player. I could paste countless articles from players who have played in Scotland who would say the opposite as below. Neither really proves or disproves the point does it? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40469729 I think your missing the bones of my overall point once again, everyone has their opinion and is entitled to air that, it's a forum after all and that's what it's about, it's more the arrogant and condascending way of airing that opinion. Not to mention the hypocrisy given on the Maguire thread the uproar at Man Utd fans sneering down their nose at Leicester in exactly the same way some on here do at every opportunity RE: Scotland and the SPFL.
  3. People can voice their opinions without being ignorant and condascending though, just because I'm not a Leicester fan first and foremost doesn't mean I should be subject to that. The standard of the SPFL isn't great, I'm not disagreeing with that, it's the hyperbole, exagerration, inaccuracy and arrogance around it I took exception to. Most seem to be in agreement with what I've said anyway.
  4. Jeezo, think he would have been a great option as that wide player for you guys as well. Can't help but feel someone has missed the boat here as surely if the choice is Watford or Leicester it's Leicester every day of the week.
  5. He was a funny one, mind thinking when you guys signed him that he would be an excellent signing but obviously never worked out. Maybe spent too long in Spain and struggled adjusting to the EPL.
  6. We done alright for a league 1 level club avoiding defeat against the best the EPL had to offer in Pep's Man City a couple of years ago, when they failed to beat us home and away, odd why we never got pasted like Burton Albion did last season if we're on a similar level. We're of course nowhere near the level of a side who could compete at the top end of the EPL and most Celtic fans are fine with that, that's just the way it is but anyone who thinks we are league 1 level clearly has never bothered watching us, nor pays attention to how we have done in Europe. Ill informed ignorance. Football snobbery is one of the worst things going, there is a thread on here hundreds of pages long pretty much deriding Man Utd and their fans arrogance towards Leicester but in the same vein you have the gutter element on here making snidy, ill informed, unsubstantiated digs at the Scottish league whenever possible. 99% of the time there is always a team higher up in the food chain than you in football that's the way it is, some people are great at looking down and being arrogant but can't accept the same when looking up.
  7. The former overpriced given the poor season he had last year imo, struggled to get into the Lazio team towards the end of the season.
  8. Will these two even be in your 25 man squad?
  9. A good point. One big missing piece of the jigsaw last season for Everton was lack of a decent striker as Calvert-Lewin is about as dangerous as a balloon on the end of a stick. If they manage to get a 15-20 goal a season striker then they could be a dangerous proposition. Like you say they made some very good signings last season in guys like Digne and Gomes particularly.
  10. On what basis? Who would you like to see brung in instead?
  11. Malcolm would be a good shout for the much discussed wide player still required imo. Sort of player I could see Rodgers really getting the best out of.
  12. Would be amazed if Pepe ended up at a club like Everton given some of the clubs who are rumoured to have strong interest in him, clubs like Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan.
  13. Imagine he'll be on the radar of far bigger clubs than West Ham if speculation is to be believed.
  14. Pavon is a funny one, career seems to have gone off a cliff since the World Cup, struggling to get in the Boca side now and rumoured to be away to LA Galaxy for $9m.
  15. As the window went on and we got the £9m offer from Fulham for Boyata we apparently offered £5m+ for McKenna but Aberdeen wanted £7m but we wouldn't go to that and as such never let Boyata go.
  16. Yeah read a bit about that where basically two different people/consortiums are laying claim to owning the club lol!
  17. If this is referring to Scott McKenna of Aberdeen then you are absolutely correct, he's awful, like a big fridge! I had cold shivers running down my spine when it was rumoured we were going to spend £7m on him last summer, another one of Congerton's brainwaves by all accounts!
  18. Agreed but your not going to sign someone like Haller to do that this summer, you just couldn't guarantee him the games and it would be a foolish way to spend money this summer. Rodgers has stated frequently he still considers Vardy to be his number 1 and a top class EPL striker.
  19. He said in his unveiling pretty much that he was a striker. Furthermore you've also got Nacho still on the books. Waxing huge sums on another striker would be daft given the need for much better than you already have out wide.
  20. How would you suggest keeping him, Vardy and Perez all happy with enough game time? He'd also cost a fair amount, surely any significant outlay now has to go on a top class wide player?
  21. Seemed nailed on to go to Napoli at the end of last season but it's all gone quiet it seems.
