  1. I think this post sums up Gray exactly.
  2. On the face of it that looks a very formidable attacking trio and you'd expect them to sign a striker also. Seen a fair bit of Fornals in the Euro-U21's just finished and he looks a fantastic player.
  3. I agree you could defo spend the money better at the moment in terms of a wide player. Like I also said earlier I don’t think he’d be a first choice in any position either for you guys but if you had cash spare he’d be a great option to rotate any of the midfield players and would be an accomplished performer. Because of his versatility he’d probably play a fair chunk of games throughout the season.
  4. Christie is ahead of Rogic in our side now, he’ll be the next one to go for big money in a couple of years, absolutely dominated the RB Leipzig midfield last season in the EL. After that we’ve got Rogic and then the next option would be to move McGregor into that position so I’d say King would be what fourth choice in that position for us, that’s why I have doubts he’d even get on our bench and definitely not the first 11.
  5. I'd say that's an exagerration, most of the teams we face are probably lower championship level, quite a few players from our league who don't necessarily stand out go down and have very good careers in the championship for example, guys like Bryson, Russell, Adam and countless others. It's nowhere near the level of the EPL but it's not league 1 either. Guys like Rogic, Ntcham, McGregor and Christie will be soon are being linked with £10-15m moves away, you guys can't seem to give King away. I've seen quite a bit of him and he'd be lucky to make our bench tbh and there is absolutely no way he'd be anywhere near our strongest 11 when everyone is fit, if you genuinely believe that then despite what you say you can't have watched Celtic much at all.
  6. Yeah I know what you mean he'd probably be well suited to the game up here. Would obviously be a complete non-starter though given his wages and I'd also question if someone like him still has the hunger. Big thing that seems to have went against him at Leicester is his price tag and that's not his fault tbf.
  7. If you watch Celtic at all then you'd know he absolutely wouldn't. Ntcham (when he can be arsed), McGregor, Christie, Rogic, Brown all far better players than him. Even the guys we've sold are better than him, e.g. Armstrong. We're talking about a guy who couldn't get into the Derby team last season, a Derby midfield containing Craig Bryson who played for Kilmarnock in his time up here and who has now signed for Aberdeen.
  8. As in you pay us to take him off your hands?!
  9. I've not seen much of James (is he not continuously injured) but King defo wouldn't make our first 11 no.
  10. He's scored goals and put in man of the match performances against the likes of Bayern Munich, Zenit, Monchengladbach, etc, etc. Every signing is a risk, McGregor is no more of a risk, probably less than blowing £20m on someone like Silva who has been a total flop and has no resale value and who is on a wage no one else will pay him. I'd trust Rodgers judgement on this one given he worked with the player day in day out for nigh on three years, that in itself reduces the risk significantly.
  11. Yeah like I said he didn't really the first season then the next two probably more than he should have. I don't think he'll be too big on rotation next season what with no European football.
  12. We're being linked with Quintero, young midfielder from the Ecuadorian side who finished third at the U20 world cup just there. I also wouldn't be surprised if the Turnbull deal was resurrected at some point.
  13. Yeah I agree I think a winger should defo be the priority for you guys, I obviously don't want to lose McGregor anyway.
  14. This is an interesting point and I'm curious to see how Rodgers approaches this as our first season (the invincible one) he rotated very little, yet in the next two he rotated probably too much. I guess with no European football there shouldn't be too much need to rotate all that much other than the League Cup and that sort of thing.
  15. From what I've seen Barnes done pretty well back end of last season so if he can improve this season and kick on he will be a big asset. Stats can only tell you so much, those who watch a player for 90 minutes week in week out are better judges of whether a player, especially a young player is developing or not. That 6 months in the EPL will have done him the world of good and he'll know what's in store and the levels he'll have to hit this season.
  16. Can't disagree with any of this. Hopefully there is no money left over after a winger lol!
  17. Don't make me type the same thing for a third time lol!
  18. I hope you don't sign him obviously for selfish reasons lol! I'd say Perez exudes the same versatility across the forward positions however whereas McGregor is the same but across the midfield positions.
  19. It's not really, taking the money and sums out of it he was gung ho towards the end with transfers at Celtic and he was the same with much vaster sums at Liverpool with the Suarez money, latterly also. The latter particularly is very much within context. I think Rodgers is a great coach and would still rather he was in the Celtic job than any other manager on the planet but those are the facts.
  20. Latterly at Celtic he did tbh, guys like Kouassi, Compper, Hendry. etc, etc but a lot of that blame can probably lie at Congerton's door. I get it's not the same level of spending as in the EPL but it's relative at least.
  21. Yeah fair points, the one thing you leave out though is McGregor is critical to our chances of getting to the Champions League so again unless we can replace him quickly, i.e. around now, then we wouldn't sell when we get to the meat of the qualifying rounds in Q3 and Q4 as losing him would not only cost us our best midfielder but potentially another £30m of Champions League income. In terms of competition for signings we just can't compete with EPL clubs tbh, that's the reality, we just don't have anywhere near the same level of finance.
  22. One of his biggest attributes is his versatility, he can play deep in midfield as a 6, box to box as an 8 and equally effective as a 10 and I think it's that which would attract Rodgers to bringing him to Leicester. My own opinion is he's best playing in that deep 6 role, next to someone like Ndidi where he could be the football brain of the partnership. He may not be first choice in any of those roles but he'd play circa 30 games a season imo by rotating players throughout the midfield and performing well whenever and wherever he plays. He's a superb technical footballer, very intelligent and very aware of what's going on round about him.
