  1. Don't think it will happen but Maddison and Dele Alli are different sorts of players, the reason they'll be looking at Maddison is as the Eriksen replacement who he is far more like.
  2. Football isn't all about TV money mate, you don't need to have a lot of TV money income to support a team or enjoying watching a particular league.
  3. You really have a serious problem with Scottish Football!
  4. Yeah absolutely no chance of it happening, for a whole host of reasons.
  5. Never heard it at a game home or away in my life, not in unison or by a single individual inside or outside the ground. Not saying it doesn't go on but you can't control what halfwits do away from a football ground.
  6. It will never happen but if it did agree, it would only be fair to start at the lowest level. On another note, there'll be three former SPFL players in the champions league final on Saturday night, you'll love that, pub league boys done good!
  7. Nothing like a bit of stereotyping and profiling. Jesus wept.
  8. That sounds pretty plausible.
  9. I'm sorry but this is just utter gibberish lol! We have supporters buses that come to games from England. Of course there is a very small minority who hang onto all the IRA garbage and not for one second condoning it but every support has it's minority of halfwits!
  10. Yeah not casting doubt on Solanke's ability the comparison was more around his inexperience versus his high fee.
  11. It's a good point mate and one that is often rolled out everytime there is fantasy speculation about us leaving Scotland. I'm not entirely sure the reason, I think UEFA may have commented on it back in the early 2000's when such speculation was at fever pitch saying something about Swansea and Cardiff have been part of the FA for many years and as such is the status quo.
  12. This. Look at what Liverpool got for Solanke in particular who has done nothing and barely played at any sort of level. Liverpool will get £20m comfortably for Wilson if he's to leave imo.
  13. Tbh mate he has a point, all football fans who are truly passionate about their club can be delusional and fantasist to a little extent at times and there isn't a lot wrong with that. For example, on the Celtic forum's we were chatting about Benitez, AVB and the likes as our next manager and ended up with Lennon lol!
  14. This guy was utterly useless in Scotland, absolutely terrible.
  15. Yeah this is exactly what I was meaning, it is insane in the wider scheme of things but as far as the EPL bubble goes it's pretty much the norm for these sort of guys.
  16. Insane indeed, by the other side of the coin, not far off the going rate for young players down in your league though. For example, if someone tried to come in and get Barnes I'd imagine you guys would be wanting about £20m, would that be accurate?
  17. Reading on lunch that Harry Wilson apparently wants to leave Liverpool on a permanent basis this summer. Would be amazed if Rodgers wasn't at the front of the queue for him.
  18. Yeah agree entirely, from what I've seen this season of Leicester it's the wide areas where real investment is needed, Barnes has lots of potential but will need to be used carefully to ensure he develops and Gray I really don't rate at all. Albrighton will always do a solid enough job but I get the feeling you need a real maverick in one of the wide areas, someone who will provide double figures in both goals and assists, someone like Mahrez lol!
  19. Overall I've no doubts McGregor is good enough to hold his own in the EPL, technically he's superb, great awareness and has no real glaring weakness in his game. In terms of the comparison with Tielemans, I'm not sure. I've not seen enough of Tielemans other than a few games with Leicester this season to make a proper judgement. Of all the players in our squad (bar Tierney) he'd be the one I think who would be the most likely to deal with the jump from Scotland to the EPL. What I would say though is maybe comparing him and Tielemens like for like isn't what you want to do. The reason being is one of McGregor's great strengths is that he is equally comfortable playing deep in midfield as he is advanced. If Rodgers does indeed go for him I'd be more inclined to think he'd favour playing McGregor deeper given the players you currently have. I could see him playing McGregor next to Ndidi and instructing Ndidi to do exactly what he did to Brown for us, break up play, destroy and give it to McGregor to put us on the front foot with his strong running and intelligent forward passing. Then in the advanced attacking midfield position you'll have Maddison and/or Tielemans and I imagine there'll be games you'll get away with playing both against the weaker sides at home. That's assuming a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-1-3-1-1 that Rodgers seems to favour of course. The very attractive thing about McGregor is that because he is so comfortable deep and in the advanced role he would provide an option to rotate with both a deep midfielder or an attacking one (Maddison and Tielemens), two for the price of one pretty much. He's so versatile in general, the sort of player that you could play anywhere and know he'll never drop below a 6 or 7 out of 10. I really don't want him to leave for my own selfish reasons but if he does and you get him for the sort of fees being quoted (~£15m) that will be a snip imo.
  20. Was quite surprised we (Celtic) are in the list, pretty good going considering our entire domestic prize money and tv money this season, after winning everything was just under £4m Hopefully if we start pulling our weight in Europe (we have underachieved there in the last couple of seasons) we can push on a bit. Not 100% convinced we are headed in the right direction though with the managerial appointment, hope I'm wrong obviously.
  21. Obviously no club wants to lose their best players but agree with this. Wish more British based players would try their hands abroad, think it could really develop them as footballers and in turn help the national teams. Hopefully the trend is now changing when you see a number of young British lads doing well in the Bundesliga.
  22. Wouldn't be in the least bit surprised.
