  1. Can’t believe this has actually happened. id be very concerned with this guy at your club.
  2. Always like Sturridge as a player but think injuries have taken their toll on him and his legs look to be gone, doesn't have that same pace or sharpness now and I guess there would also be question marks over his hunger given he's sat on the Liverpool bench quite the thing for a few years now. I'd avoid.
  3. They've been quite vocal, think it was Van Der Sar that there will be no more than a couple of them leaving and there will be no big fire sale. Need to see how it develops I guess.
  4. Rogic's agent just shot down the speculation by all accounts saying neither himself or Celtic have had any communication from Leicester or Southampton and that he is happy at Celtic after signing a new long term contract.
  5. There defo isn't any such clause.
  6. Can't really disagree with this, if your spending that sorta money on one of our midfielders and it's not McGregor then that's bad judgment imo.
  7. And it's exactly this sort of ignorant logic that seen Crytstal Palace miss out on Virgil Van Dijk, when they could have got him for £8m. Maybe instead of wasting money on Scotland players you can go and give Sporting Lisbon near £50m again for some top players from there.
  8. Don't think he's good enough for the premier league tbh, not good enough for a top side and he'd be a luxury the lower half teams could ill afford. Rodgers didn't fancy him either, preferred Forrest over him in the main. I'd have him back at Celtic but it's a completely different context to you guys, we have tons of the ball, always have teams on the back foot and less onus on having to work back the way which he's not great at.
  9. You think Ghezzal will be part of Rodgers' plans? He's one I thought they would be trying to offload.
  10. From watching you guys since Rodgers arrived taking Maddison out of the team will kill a lot of creativity, not to mention the fact you may not get Tielemens means that quite rightly Rodgers is looking at strengthening this area.
  11. From what I've seen of him as good a player as he is if you take Maddison and/or Tielemens out of your side and place the onus on Hamza to provide this creativity you will be much weaker. He's simply a very different type of player from Maddison and Tielemens from what I have seen.
  12. I'm of the same opinion but I guess Rodgers will know them best.
  13. Rogic is the word today. For what it's worth it would probably be a decent move in terms of cover for Maddison, on his day he's easily good enough for the EPL his only problem is consistency and his knack of picking up injuries. He wouldn't dislodge Maddison but could prove pretty useful cover as said. All that said, if I had £15m to spend and it was Rogic or McGregor it would be the latter every day of the week.
  14. Papers saying this morning Rodgers is after Rogic for £15m. Not sure if there's much truth in it or if it's just lazy journalism. Rogic was however another Rodgers elevated to another level and apparently one of the main reasons he signed a new contract was because he loved working under Rodgers so maybe something in it.
  15. Napoli and Inter Milan is the latest talk in the last couple of days in terms of clubs who are after Tierney.
  16. I wouldn't even have Wellbeck at Celtic, a striker who doesn't score goals, just runs around a lot and even then can't stay fit enough to do that very often.
  17. Exactly my point mate and why the big club myth, by it's very definition (or lack of), is by and large pointless and a flawed argument in modern times.
  18. I'm not sure I can see it personally but what I was told.
  19. Leeds is a very poor example given they are largely where they are due to gross financial mismanagement.
  20. With our current resources your maybe right. However, the variance is with access to the EPL tv money and our existing fan base where would we finish after a few years? To flip it on it's head would Leicester win the SFPL if they were in it and surrendered the vast riches of the sky money and had to operate on what would be a smaller budget to us? I doubt it. All this bigger club debates and where whoever would finish in respective leagues is absolute playground in nature, pointless and classic my dad is bigger than yours type stuff for those who are incapable of having reasoned and constructive debate. In short, the point I'm trying to make above is it's like comparing apples and oranges, a pointless waste of time. This is a great forum, but like every forum it will have a gutter element and it seems this thread houses a fair few of the incumbents of said gutter.
  21. On a different point, Forrest won the PFA player of the year award up here last night. Take this with a pinch of salt but also heard at the weekend, from someone with a source inside the club that we are close to getting Benkovic on loan for another season. As much as I'd love this to be the case I hope if true it's not a sweetener because we've agreed to sell you McGregor or Forrest or someone like that.
  22. I'll give you a couple of reasons why not, will be grossly overpriced and doesn't work even near hard enough to play in a Rodgers team.
