  1. Although he's left footed and very one footed he actually plays on the right of centre for us mostly and does very well there operating on that little inside right channel where he can come inside onto his stronger foot and pick passes.
  2. A class act, could see him doing well down south, he's really elevated his game to another level this season which is particularly impressive given everything around him is a bin fire. Apparently we want a record fee for him however so he won't be cheap, north of £25m and Newcastle rumoured to have a strong interest. Can't wait for us to get the big fee for him and then use it to sign 7 players that if you joined them all together couldn't make a single decent player.
  3. Oh? I like him, think with more games he'll really develop.
  4. Looked an absolute donkey playing in Scotland a few years back, I'd wager you already have a few centre backs better than him.
  5. 2nd is last in the SPL though, no one cares how far behind the team in third is. If we finish second he'll be out on his ear.
  6. That guy is a complete and utter donkey.
  7. Excellent signing imo, especially at championship level on decent terms too. The 4 year deal doesn't concern me at all, a lot of centre back's tend to peak at around 30 nowadays.
  8. Yeah a few times mate. Didn’t want him back is the nub of it, don’t think any of his shortcomings he had as a manager have significantly improved since he left and worry about him getting the kind of money to spend this summer that’s been reported.
  9. I see your celebrity status is stretching north of the border now @Ric Flair
  10. A progressive appointment if true, seems to be a fantastic coach. Ultimately recruitment will make or break him I think, a big emphasis on that for a new manager in his first season. In saying that, he does have pretty much the biggest and best scouting network at his disposal in the city group.
  11. I was actually thinking about that the other day because of the similar story about Spalleti at Napoli
  12. Based on nothing I reckon if Rodgers comes back to us Maresca will be the new Leicester manager. I think Man City will push Maresca towards us initially given the fact we seem to pretty much be a city group club these days in every way apart from the ownership.
  13. I don't think anyone who is anywhere close to sane would believe Celtic are a more attractive proposition to most sides in premier league in England given the economic disparity. Not sure what point you are trying to make here tbh. If Rodgers were to come back to Celtic, which I for one definitely do not want to happen it wouldn't be to compete in the Champions League, we simply don't have the resources to do that meaningfully. His reasons for coming back would be to massage and inflate his own ego and try and make everyone love him again. I know your a Rodgers fan boy but I know people who have worked for him directly and who have a really good idea of how his mind works, based on real-life events and conversations so I feel pretty well qualified to make the claim above.
  14. It won't be about that, it'll be about his ego, the biggest challenge in his mind will be to go back and try and change everyone's mind and convince everyone he's the messiah again.
  15. You must be reading/hearing a lot of different stuff from me
  16. Yeah it was well understood by all parties that season would have been his last. Obviously it happened a bit sooner in the end-up. On the second point yeah that's true but tbh that's not the reason Celtic fans would oppose his return. In reality we are a shop window for England, managers are no different from players in that they'll always have an eye on leaving for the premier league and that's pretty well understood and accepted. Anyone that's successful will be gone from Scotland in 2-3 years for a whole host of reasons.
  17. Like I've said on other threads don't want him back. The personal aspect of it aside I don't see any of the shortcomings he has as a manager disappearing since he left us. His recruitment is still a shambles and he's still so one dimensional he'll get us pasted in Europe. Hypothetically, it's a bit different up here, if he were to come back and deliver 3 titles in a row but flounder in europe most people would still view his time as a success, rightly or wrongly, it's just the way the dynamic works in Glasgow.
  18. He does have a magic hat, or at least it was claimed he had at one point in time.
  19. Can see a Watford type scenario with either of them come August in a similar way to Dennis, Sarr and Pedro whereby one has to go before the end of the window.
  20. Not trying to be snide but can you quantify very well? I'd say he done well in Europe. However, and many Rangers fans will tell you the same thing, 1 trophy out of 9 isn't a good return for a Rangers manager and he was lucky covid hit when it did as lots of the Rangers support wanted him gone at that point. His subsequent failings at Villa further reinforce that if you dig beneath the name and his pedigree as a player he's at best a bang average manager.
  21. Yup, that certainly isn't how I feel about him or most people I speak to!
  22. https://www.followfollow.com/forum/threads/sakala-goal-return.243271/ Jist of this is he's a squad player at best in their minds. Not a player to get you out a league like the championship.
  23. Most Rangers fans would drive Fashion Sakala to Leicester gift wrapped for you. Have a look on their forums to see what they think of him.
