  1. He's been linked with Brighton a fair bit over the last 12 months. Can see him being a decent replacement for Bissouma.
  2. It's comparing apples and oranges a bit as they are different types of midfielder but Tielemans is head and shoulders the best player at Leicester and the one player you'd put your house on going to the very top. Maddison is a very good player but he's a level below Tielemans. In my opinion anyway.
  3. I know he was good the season before last and I admittedly didn't really watch him then. Last season however I seen him a good few times and couldn't see what all the fuss was about really. Same goes for his performances in the Euro under 21's just past. May be a case of second season syndrome type thing as there was an awful lot of hype around him 12 months ago.
  4. I actually wouldn't mind Wyke as cover in the forward positions, he's the type of striker who'd be useful up here in certain games against packed defences. However if he is the Edouard replacement (which I fear he may be) then that's unacceptable.
  5. He's probably the bargain of the summer across Europe at £15m imo.
  6. Jota, Salah and Mane all play out wide, the only one that tends to play centrally is Firmino and they have no decent back-up for him to speak of, nor like I say does he score enough goals. If Daka is as good as everyone thinks he is he'd play quite a lot at Liverpool. When everyone is fit and firing yes they have one of the best front three's around but despite that they have very little depth in attacking positions compared to say Man City and even Chelsea.
  7. Agree with this and the thing is I think he'd play just as regularly at Liverpool. As good as Firmino is at everything else he doesn't score enough goals and they really need a central striker to start chipping in with goals. Look at last season, as soon as Mane's form dropped the only person they could rely on for goals was Salah.
  8. Tbh it's probably a better standard of league overall, pound for pound anyway. The Austrian league that is.
  9. Daka on the face of it looks a better player than Edouard but not sure he's attainable with the level of clubs that are interested in him.
  10. Tonight confirmed what I've thought every time I've saw Demiral. Bullet well and truly dodged.
  11. I can see where that concern comes from but I think Rodgers will have him well drilled as to play as a focal point and to look to run in behind when transitioning.
  12. I'd ignore his heat map from this season tbh, whether it is due to long covid or whatever else he's barely been arsed getting out of a jog this season. Also add in the fact that 99% of the games we play in Scotland teams are camped in their own 18 yard box for 90 minutes and it can skew things like the above. He does like to peel left and come from deep quite a lot but I'd say one of his biggest strengths is his ability to run in behind and finish. If you look at a lot of our games against stronger sides such as against Rangers and in Europe a lot of his goals have come this way. In short although there are similarities on the basis of that heatmap he's a very different type of striker to Iheancho.
  13. Each to their own but I don't think what happened at Monaco will have any bearing on his future choices. He's a top player and to be that way you need to have a ruthless, unwavering confidence in your own ability and he looks to have that. I'd actually be concerned if any player had that sort of mindset where they'd be reluctant to advance their career due to any past "failure".
  14. I don't think it's an issue of Tielemans wanting to leave, in fact I'm pretty sure he doesn't. I'd be amazed if he's got his agent out trying to engineer a move. The above is completely different to him being interested if one of Europe's big clubs, who have champions league football to offer come in for him this summer though, he'd obviously want to look at that. If that doesn't happen though I'm sure he'd remain quite content to stay for a bit longer. The huge elephant in the room is his contract situation though. The club need to tie him down to a new contract this summer or there is a huge financial risk starting to creep closer. It wasn't a popular opinion but I maintain if he's not signed that contract come August time I'd be actively looking to sell him to give the greatest chance of having decent enough resources to replace him.
  15. Barnes is at his best running onto the ball with space to run into either at a defender or in behind. The position in which you receive the ball when playing as a number 9, particularly in a system with one striker is completely different, more often than not you receive the ball with your back to goal and rely on your ability to hold the ball in and link up. Barnes's greatest strenght is exploiting space from deep, playing as a number 9 would dillute that very much so.
  16. This. People think because they are both lightning quick it would work which is just wrong.
  17. They are a complete basket case of a club in the transfer market!
  18. Gignac is on the pre-list as well so you'd imagine he'd go. It all depends on the player, from what I've read the club can deny them going if the player agrees but if the player wants to go and the club forbid him then it can get messy. That's what the stooshe around Mbappe going at the moment is around.
  19. Eerily similar to their great side of 98.
  20. I can't find online anywhere who is actually on the pre-list although I know Edouard is on it. The pre-list has 80 players and that'll be whittled down to a final squad of 22 I guess so thre's a chance Edouard may not make the cut.
  21. FYI re Edouard btw, he's due to play in the olympics with France this summer so that'll delay his arrival somewhat.
