  1. What do you mean start to stagnate Our league is sponsored by Glen's vodka by christ!
  2. Even if he did leave he's far too good for the shithouse that is Man Utd. They have been lucky this year due to Liverpool and Chelsea being garbage for 3/4 of the season. Both of those sides get their act together next season and Man Utd are back scrapping it out for fourth place again.
  3. In all honesty it would be bad planning by the club if they did and I can't see that happening. Better to try and use him more wisely/replace him gradually as opposed to just waiting until he's knackered and thinking right what do we do now. That's obviously the logic behind the Edouard signing.
  4. He looked to me the last few months of the season like he had lost a yard of pace actually. Obviously still very quick in relation to most people but he didn't look to me like he was at the same level of acceleration as he was previously.
  5. Because someone else will most likely come in and nab him this summer. All for this one if the price is right.
  6. Yeah I'd agree with that tbh. Grealish is one of these players if he was on your side you'd love but if he's on the opposing side you love to hate, probably a large part of what give him his edge.
  7. Yeah pretty much this, a couple of years ago him and Maddison were at similar points in their careers but in the time since Grealish has went from 0-60 and Maddison can't seem to put together a long run of form of what we know he can do at his best. Injuries of course a large part of that. They are basically a year apart in age.
  8. This is no slight on Maddison as I think he's a very good player but Grealish is comfortably a better player than him.
  9. Had a good season this season, first 3/4 of it anyway.
  10. Surprised at that really liked the look of him this season.
  11. Our capitulation and the subsequent mess we find ourselves in isn't Congerton's fault, as useless as he was. He was about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike in his time at Celtic but this season and where we find ourselves is all on lawell and the board. Appointing a guy that got the sack at Bolton and Hibs to replace someone like Brendan Rodgers and then just throwing money at the issue last summer with no due dilligence whatsoever. Thereafter, turning it into an us v the fans issue and not putting Lennon out of his misery and now being caught with our pants down with all the carry on around Howe.
  12. Yeah hindsight is a wonderful thing I guess mate. Like you say things have obviously went stale and we probably should have cashed in last summer. The fans would have went nuts but had we then went on and won the league then it would have quickly have been forgotten about, unlike the season that unfolded which will not be easily forgotten at all. I don't think we were exactly batting bat bids away for players last summer mind you. From what I'm led to believe the only bids we received were a derisory one from a Bundesliga club for Edouard and a £16m offer from Lyon for Christie. Christ only knows why we didn't accept the latter.
  13. Tell me about it mate, we are like a dumpster fire.
  14. Seen similar reports at the weekend saying £8m which also seems low. In saying that he only has a year to go on his deal and we as a club are currently modelling ourselves on the titanic so I guess we'll take what we can get for him.
  15. Some shall I say curious replies here. As a Fuchs replacement, as that's what he is, I'm not sure there's much better that is attainable in terms of value and experience. A definite upgrade on 2021 Fuchs also. A smart transfer that hopefully happens.
  16. He needs an overnight sea change in terms of attitude or else I fear you may be correct. He looked the same half arsed way for France last night as he had for us all season.
  17. They obviously did value Maguire at that as that's what Man Utd had to end up paying to speak to him. If he doesn't sign a new contract then when the time does come to replace him it's going to be even harder as the £40m he cost will have went up in smoke along with the potential additional £20-40m that you could get for him this summer with a £60-80m transfer fee. The club ain't daft, they are not going to risk any big asset running down their contract and walking out the club for pennies or worst of all nothing.
  18. No one is offering £100m for him and I'd be very surprised if that's what the club valued him at given he has two years to go on his deal. Add in the fact that the transfer market has changed since pre-covid and it's even more unlikely. Please don't hold up Maguire as a benchmark as that was a complete misnomer of a fee as has been proven since.
  19. I get where your coming from. Tielemans doesn't strike me as the sort who'll want to leave just for the sake of leaving. I think it would be more if one of Europe's top clubs made a move he may want to pursue it. If that doesn't happen though I don't see him rocking the boat. It may not be a popular opinion but as I've said before if he doesn't sign a new contract this summer and is intent on letting it run down I'd be actively looking to sell him. He's someone the club have the guts of £40m already tied up in so it makes sense to sell him when his value is at it's maximum to ensure the wheel keeps turning.
  20. Yeah I guess an obligation to buy for them may be more appealing, can't see an Under type option deal though.
  21. I think Trincao is more than attainable I just think it'll be a case of having to front up the money due to Barcelona's current financial situation.
  22. Would be amazed if Barcelona would do any of they deals this summer, they need money in the door and quick.
  23. Ain't getting £55m for Maddison in the current climate, or close to it unfortunately. The rest looks pretty reasonable though.
  24. I'd have Benkovic back in a minute if we could get him fit.
