  1. Pau Torres is their first choice centre back but he's already on the radar of most of Europe's top clubs and would cost a fair bit. Raul Albiol is the other who still a decent player is in the twilight of his career.
  2. Played well tonight. Always was a steady performer at EPL level I thought.
  3. Haaland ain't going to cost only £20m more though, this summer anyway. Raiola and his father are both wanting £20m each on top of the transfer fee and quotes from Raiola in the last few days suggests he wants a weekly wage of £1m. I can see Haaland still being at Dortmund when the window shuts and the vultures circling next summer when his £60m release clause kicks in.
  4. I don't think he's saying that at all. I think he's merely saying that these bigger clubs have far greater resource streams than Leicester and likely always will. In football nowadays unfortunately money generally talks, over the long term anyway. Therefore the best way for Leicester to make up that shortfall is to be more creative and outperform these clubs in the transfer market, make money go further essentially. To do this a necessary evil is to consistently buy low and sell when a player's stock is high and rinse and repeat. Guys like Tielemans are going to the top of the game and as such will demand salaries to reflect, 200-300k a week, maybe more. Unless Leicester pluck a new revenue stream out of thin air that brings in another £100m a season to pay 5 or 6 Tielemans type players these wages to make them stay then the only route to competing, punching above our weight if you will is to generate revenue by bringing in more than these clubs from the transfer market.
  5. Yeah unfortunately people get hung up on the Maguire fee as a benchmark. Getting that money for Maguire was an outlier. Although Tielemans is a far better player of course, given his contract, the fact he's not English and an economic re-adjustment of the transfer market post covid it's not cut and dried that the fee for Tielemans exceeds that of Maguire unfortunately.
  6. Yeah and I remember when everyone buggered off to Leicester
  7. Yeah he's more than quick enough to get in behind defences, not raw searing pace like a peak Vard or anything like that but quick enough for sure.
  8. Hmm has regressed terribly any time I've saw him the last year or so, looks like a speed boat with no driver a lot of the time, which is a shame as a few years ago looked like he would be a monster of a player.
  9. That'd be great business, they were holding out for more than double this amount for him last summer. He's a terrific player as well.
  10. Where have I seen that one before, only with future season ticket sales
  11. I'm not sure at all mate, I've not heard anything of any substance other than the tenuous links in the media.
  12. This season I could see that but curiously what games did you see the season before and weren't impressed? He was on fire the previous season and possibly the best output I've seen from a striker in a Celtic shirt in a single season since Larsson.
  13. Southampton's recruitment model seems to be entirely focussed on signing Celtic players The player would obviously far prefer to go to Leicester but Southampton's interest may be appealing to Celtic if it means we could broker a swap deal for Forster. Not sure if such a deal would also get us out of having to pay PSG anything via a sell on. Player holds all the power I guess in where he goes, particularly with only a year left on his contract, would be amazed if he wasn't a Leicester player next season.
  14. Another thing about Kabak that has always struck me, why when Schalke still had a fighting chance of staying up in January were they happy to loan him out? I know hey are skint but that's academic as they weren't bringing any money in for him in January. You'd think if he was half decent at all they'd have wanted him in the side as they battled to avoid the drop. Being surplus to requirments at the side who finished bottom of the Bundesliga doesn't read well at all.
  15. I've seen him plenty of times and imo he's been poor. Even the games where he hasn't made mistakes he looked a nervous wreck. Probably a hundred different ways to spend the guts of £20m on a defender and get someone better for the short and long term. To spend that sort of money on someone who is significantly poorer than all the centre backs currently at the club is not an astute recruitment move and that's why it won't happen, Leicester are too sharp in the transfer market these days for that.
  16. No not really, plenty of footballers struggle with lots of the above. Are you seriously trying to argue that Kane isn't a world class player here? If so I think your judgement is severely clouded yes.
  17. Finishing Shooting from range First touch Range of passing Awareness Ability to find space Whether you like the guy or not he's an absolute beast of a player, he's one of the few bona-fide number 9's left in world football that buries even half chances regularly.
  18. At the prices speculated, £8-10m they should be able to easily.
  19. I'm hoping we (Celtic) sign him this summer I've only seen bits and pieces of him this season but he does look as if he's turned into a very decent player. He seems far more aggressive than he ever was. I'd be surprised if he were someone who would threaten to play much at Leicester in all honesty, right now anyway.
  20. There's tons better out there at that sort of money. Two examples would be Tarkwoski who will probably be available in that ball park and Ajer who'd cost half that.
  21. Irrespective he's been garbage.
  22. Your not wrong, watched him a number of times this season and he was terrible, so much so that Phillips and Williams are preferred to him as you allude to. Wouldn't be touching him with a barge pole, particularly at 20 odd million.
