  1. Strachan absolutely lost the plot at Middlesborough with those signings, add McManus to that list also.
  2. Yeah he's cut that type of figure all season in all honesty.
  3. Yeah that's right, from Dundee Utd though.
  4. Yeah the most recent ones. In case you never noticed there aren't too many good players in Scotland so it's not like there are four or five players making that move every summer. Like I said those above are the most recent cases and they have all done well. Going back near 10 years or whatever and using examples such as Gary Hooper or whatever isn't going to be very insightful or add much value is it. Even then going back that far I'd wager there were more successes than failures. If you can provide me some examples in the last five years of players who have moved from the SPFL to the EPL and have bombed I'm happy to stand corrected.
  5. Sort of player Celtic should be after. Promise him first team football for a couple of seasons and sell him back to England or Europe for £20m in a couple of seasons. Exact same sort of approach tha worked so well for us with Dembele. Problem is we don't seem to know our arse from our elbow in terms of transfers and scouting at the moment.
  6. Yeah guys like John McGinn, Kieran Tierney and Virgil Van Dijk have really struggled to make that step up in recent years. In fact I can't think of the last person that came from the SPFL to the EPL who didn't do relatively well.
  7. Toney would cost comfortably double what Edouard would cost this summer. Your not gettng any change out of £30m for him, Watkins set the benchmark in that sense.
  8. Cundy is about as insightful as a concrete bollard. He's another one like Durham that has no talent or deep knowledge of the game so just blurts out whatever controversial rubbish pops into his head to try and stay relevant.
  9. Yeah £20m would be decent business.
  10. Nail on the head sir. This is the guy that said Mark Warburton should be the next England manager after he won the Scottish second tier with Rangers. A whopper of epic proportions, the Katie Hopkins of sports radio, if you can even call Talksport that.
  11. I think you could get around £20m comfortably for him in all honesty.
  12. The one word I'd use is omnishambles, the exact same scenario as when we had deals lined up for Piccini and McGinn and Lawell tried to be fly and lost out on both players. Toney himself and Barry Fry had been on record saying Celtic were his preferred choice, but they wanted £7m up-front plus a further £2m in add-ons. Lawell the embaressment wouldn't budge from £5m up front with £2m in add-ons. After making an arse of that we then went and gave West Ham £5m for Ajeti, despite West Ham saying we could take him on loan for a year at first with a £5m option at the end of the season. We not only missed out on Toney who is now a £30m+ player but are also £5m lighter and lumbered with the unfit, uninterested, overweight charlatan that is Ajeti.
  13. I'm meaning the fact he should be a Celtic player if Lawell wasn't such a fat penny pinching waste of space.
  14. He's been linked with us (Celtic) and the walking dead the past couple of weeks. I'm sure Peterborough can't wait to do business with us again after the Toney fiasco last summer.
  15. Seen a fair bit of him, he's not worth anywhere near that even if he had five years left on his deal. £20m would be an absolute ceiling for me with Soumare and even at that with a year to go I'd say his value is more in the £15m range. He's a decent enough player but I don't think he improves the starting eleven.
  16. Every Toney thread fills me with incandescent levels of rage and frustration.
  17. Think he's a decent player but he seems to pick up injuries quite easily and as good as he is at what he does he's quite one dimensional. I think if a bid of £20m+ were to come in I'd sell and reinvest in a more dynamic midfield player.
  18. He's not going to Spurs. He's not even going to have a decision to make, Spurs can't afford him.
  19. He looks a bombscare also. He's actually looked the far poorer of the two out of him and Phillips. Far better value to be had out there.
  20. For what he'd cost I think there is far better value to be had than Demiral and I also don't think he improves the squad. All three centre backs at Leicester are already better than him.
  21. I wouldn't go near Demiral with a barge pole. Seen lots of him this season and he's been horrific.
  22. Yeah that's pretty much exactly it mate.
  23. He had a poor first season but he'd came on a lot this season and had a very good season, he was good against us in the last game. He's a tidy enough player but does go missing for spells. I don't think he's close to being good enough for a top 6 EPL side in all honesty though.
  24. I absolutely do rate him I'm just giving an honest assessment of his strengths and weaknesses. For £15m which is likely what he'll cost I think he's a no brainer of a signing.
