  1. No it wouldn't. It would be the end of professional football in Scotland. Those clubs that you say would be more compettive would have to go part-time and it would become like the league of Wales.
  2. Unless the whole Scottish Football pyramid got looked at and integrated into a UK wide setup then I'd be dead against this. When I say looked into I mean re-structured in a sensible way, we have far too many clubs as it is. If the top say 16-18 were integrated into a UK setup and the rest formed a regional, semi-pro setup, similar to english non-league then fair enough, anything else, not a chance. As has been said, if it was simply Celtic and Rangers moving it'd be them doing essentially what these super league clubs are doing which is anhorrent.
  3. If they're willing to pay the compo Rodgers will be right at the top of the list along with Nagelsmann and Allegri. Whether he would go or not is another question in itself. I'm not sure what he'd do but I think a lot of people look at it from the wrong angle in terms of would he go to this club or that club. I think Rodgers is more calculating than that, I think he'll look at it more in terms of how much further he could take Leicester versus any club that comes in for him. I'm not saying this is the case but if he feels he's hit a glass ceiling with Leicester for example taking someone like Spurs from 8th to a perennal Champions League club may be an attractive proposition for him. I'm not saying that is the case and hopefully it won't be just trying to stress the point there are many shades of grey to whether he'd go, stay reject this club or whatever else.
  4. They've been long admirers of Nagelsmann so maybe not given Flick made it publicly known he was leaving at the end of the season yesterday. That said I reckon Nagelsmann is nailed on to be the next Bayern manager.
  5. It's a mix of things really, I think covid hit him hard, he visibly lost a lot of weight. Then when he came back to fitness we were in the midst of a Lennon inspired meltdown. His attitude could have been better no doubt but Lennon sucked the energy out of our squad.
  6. Yeah that's a fair point mate. Was less pressure I guess when guys like Tierney and McGregor first emerged after Rangers died. A more forgivng environment essentially.
  7. I'm really not sure at all mate but like you allude to I think there'll be more of an onus on us now to try and develop a couple of more Tierney and McGregor's if we're going to get anywhere.
  8. He doesn't like to put it about a bit at all, he's the opposite type of striker to that. Dembele was that type of striker, Edouard is far removed from that.
  9. If Arsenal arse about the same way they did with Tierney trying to pay for him in dribs and drabs then Leicester or someone else will nick Edouard before them.
  10. Sorry to be a pedant but big and aggressive is one of the last ways I'd describe Edouard. He's not really an aggressive player at all.
  11. Your off your head if you think this, Celtic will do well to get half this price up front. As I've said tons of times on here also this Celtic Leicester animosity is an absolute fallacy for countless reasons I've listed before.
  12. I think he means more that he's 25 already so whether he's a success or a disaster there won't be much scope to get back what is paid for him. Got to remember this is a guy that was available for £7m 9 months ago. There's better value to be had out there.
  13. If we got £15m plus add-ons for him I'd be delighted in all honesty. If we can get around £15-20m for Ajer and Christie also, added to the £5m we got for Klimala today i'll give us a decent kitty to rebuild.
  14. You've obviously not been reading the Kelechi Iheancho thread But yes, I have eaten a whole cake's worth of humble pie
  15. He's very much a different type of player to Iheanacho in all honesty. In terms of style he's more like a poorer version of Thierry Henry.
  16. Have you watched him this season? He's been way out his depth at Liverpool and we already have three centre back's who are miles better than him.
  17. I'd argue qualifying for the champions league and/or going deep into the Europa League and doing that season after season is what will make the club push on and become one of the big boys. Signing player x and not selling player y then finishing 8th or something like that isn't going to make the big boys sit up and take notice.
  18. All depends on whether he signs a new contract I guess.
  19. I still get the feeling Trincao may be available this summer. Barcelona really need to shift players if they are to bring anyone in.
  20. Kelechi, I was wrong about you and I have no idea why I was so foolish. I love you now!
  21. Agree with your point but as an aside with Doig, I wouldn't see the logic in Leicester signing him. He looks a decent enough player but from what I've seen of both Thomas is a far better player.
  22. There's really no point in referencing the valuations of transfermrkt, they are way off anything that could be considered realistic.
  23. Hear! Hear! Starts with the fans also, the doom merchants will have plenty of time to piss and moan in the summer if top 4 doesn't happen. In the meantime stop wetting the bed and get behind the team and manager! Sitting third, champions league qualification in our own hands, in an FA Cup semi-final! Caaaam on!
  24. It would be a very expensive gamble though with him. I can see him ending up at PSG come the summer with Poch.
