  1. Of course they do, there is a small minority with most clubs. Rangers supporters consistently let their side down and disgrace themselves though, on another level to most clubs. Your not telling me what I listed there is the norm for most clubs? Returning to Manchester and not being allowed to enter the city and being herded in the JJB stadium before and after their fixture is not the norm for any club. That's just one example of many. I actually have a few close friends that are Rangers fans and I feel sorry for them when you see those types of fan let down by what seems their moronic majority.
  2. Seen quite a bit of him this season and every time I have he looks like a bombscare. Bullet dodged that one I think. Conversely, Otavio looks a very tidy player.
  3. Absolutely no way in hell this happens. He's horrific, he was crying on the pich for us one game he was playing that badly.
  4. Thomas has proved already he's good enough to survive at this level. Keep giving him games here and there and watch him grow further. He'd be wasted in he Championship imo, I'm not sure that would do his develpment much good.
  5. The issue there is these level of players need a fair amount of games to iron out deficencies and polish off their rough edges. Affording a player that luxury at a top 4 club in the strongest league in the world isn't usually viable. I guess it's a victim of success type scenario given where the club is now. These guys need to go to weaker leagues and smaller clubs now before they are ready to compete at the top level and because of that you pay a premium when they prove they can make the step up. It's no coincidence that the very top clubs in the top leagues barely sign the type of players you have profiled here and if they do they are punted out on loan for 2-3 years first.
  6. This is spot on. Part of me feels sorry for McInnes in that he only won the one trophy as he was unfortunate to meet the best side in Scottish football in a long time. Of the 12 trophies we won in a row I reckon we must have beaten Aberdeen in at least 7 finals.
  7. The standard of the football is crap, if that was my main driver I wouldn't watch the SPFL. I love Celtic, I was brought up to support them. they are my club and always will be so I guess that's what I like about the SPFL.
  8. Well that says it all. The only reason players and managers of any note bother coming to Scotland is for a leg up to the EPL.
  9. When they won the European Cup Winners Cup in 1972, in Barcelona, they went on a spree of destruction, starting inside the ground, that got so bad John Greig was presented with the trophy in the dressing room. After that they went and tracked down chapels and started smashing them up. The end result being they got banned from Europe for two years and couldn't defend their own trophy. When they next visited Barcelona some years laters they disgraced themselves on a smaller scale again, so much so that the mayor of Barcelona said that the other citizens of Glasgow should get a medal just for having to share the same city as them. Manchester, they're next European final after Barcelona, they absolutely wreck the place and embaress the whole of Scotland. All because a big screen stopped working apparently. Now after winning "55" they desecrate their own city, damaging it, disrespecting themselves and embaressing everyone again. Stands shut in recent years in Europe due to racism, going to Israel and being caught doing Nazi salutes. As Ian Archer once said, a permanent embaressment and an occassional disgrace. https://www.eurosport.co.uk/all-sports/would-scotland-miss-rangers_sto4706809/story.shtml
  10. Never underestimate the young and English premium.
  11. No No chance We've had countless opportunities in the last twenty years when Rangers should have given us a guard of honour and we haven't so we better not give them one when we play them next.
  12. The "fans" absolutely wrecked the city centre last night. Strange way to celebrate.
  13. The best way to add squad depth is by improving the first eleven. Any club that has tried to bulk out their squad by buying squad fillers it's ended in disaster. See Rodgers at Liverpool with the Suarez money and Spurs with the Bale money. Keep on following the same model, 1-3 quality players per year to improve things. Never seen a club bring in tons of players in a window and the majority of them working out.
  14. Pukki has looked great for Norwich, not a bad shout, he's a good goalscorer. Pretty remarkable the way he's performed in England as he flopped massively at Celtic.
  15. It's not personal mate, I just think whenever I've watched him, which admittedly isn't near as much as most on here that he's useless. Useless in the context of an EPL striker of course. Even in the last two years when Vardy has been injued and he's been asked to carry the torch in the league he's been terrible, in the games I've saw anyway. You seem to forget he's even on the pitch and when he does get involved I find it difficult to see anything he's particularly good at. His link up play is ok at times but you need a lot more than that to be a striker nowadays, particularly in this day and age when teams play with only one recognised striker in the main. I know he didn't decide his own fee but for 20 odd million and for how long he's been at the club I think it's reasonable to expect so much more from him. I'm not saying buy ready made £60m players, Leciester can't and shouldn't do that, there is already a model that works perfectly that avoids that. That said, your talking about a guy who cost the guts of £25m almost five years ago, then and even more so now when you consider inflation thats a lot of money for someone who to be blunt hasn't delivered, even when he's had the opportunity to replace Vardy when he's been injured he's underwhelmed. I'd also wager if he was a 15 goal a season EPL striker Rodgers would trust him more than he does and wouldn't be out scouring the market for another striker, who'll likely be ahead of him in the peckng order. You'd also have other clubs battering your door down for him if he was that type of striker as there are about 7 or 8 teams in the league where a guy like that could be the difference between survival and relegation. I don't see that happening either. Football's subjective right, it's only my opinion of him, everyone looks at things differently.
  16. Not a bad shout, he was much maligned by Rangers fans last season, oddly he was always good against Celtic but poor against the rest of the sides in the league. This season he has kicked on though and looked very good, could be worth a punt. I know it was some time ago mind you but I think loan spells he had in English football he flopped quite badly, Bristol City I think it was.
  17. Is the standard he’s being judged at not obvious? The league he plays in, as an EPL striker he’s mince. Particularly with a club who have designs on being a top 4 club he is miles short of what is required as even a back-up striker. The fact Rodgers doesn’t seem to trust him also says it all. If he was at any other club in the EPL he’d be labelled a donkey on here. Get some cash for him this summer while it’s still possible. Iheancho in his life will never score 15 goals in the EPL at any club. 15 goals a season EPL strikers aren’t forever kicking their heels on the bench and when they do get the chance don’t consistently underwhelm as he does.
  18. I really don’t see how Ings is like for like with Vardy at all, different types of strikers. Also Ings and Toney will cost at least double what Edouard would and the former will have zero re-sale value of note. Given covid and financial belts being tightened it’s all about finding value in the transfer market at the moment.
  19. Yes. Iheancho is mince. Edouard is already a better player in every way. That said, for EPL level anyway your not buying the finished article, he’s still got a bit of developing to do to make it at the very top but there’s no one better than Rodgers to do that. In this day and age of inflated transfer fees getting Eduoard for £15m is an absolute snip. Had our season this season not been an omnishambles and he’d maintained his level of form from last season and before we’d have got £30m for him without much bother.
  20. I’d imagine it’ll be £15m up front with some performance related add-ons for the extra £5m.
  21. One of these players that will almost certainly flop wherever he goes after Madrid. Another Jese Rodriguez type, as much as he does a job at times for Madrid.
  22. Exactly this. Like I’ve said many times, Celtic would have no problem doing business with Leicester and as for Rodgers it seems his relationship with the board has got far better since he left, I’ve pointed out many examples of this. In terms of the fans, everyone has accepted Edouard will leave and wherever he goes I doubt the fans could care less at the minute given the other myriad of problems at the club at the moment which will be the thing occupying their headspace.
  23. Aww man I loved Sinclair! Even his song was amazing!
  24. Yeah Premier League era of course. Trying to compare anything pre that is like comparing apples and oranges given the context of where football is today.
