  1. Who gave Congerton the keys to the recruitment room
  2. I'd say making champons league provides even more justification to stick to a transfer model that's already working magnificently. Why make the champions league and then deviate from that, seems unwise to me. The key with making the champions league wlll hopefully means it'll be easier to convince key players to stay longer than anticipated and not flee the nest when another CL club comes calling.
  3. Had mentioned on this thread previously this season was huge for Maddison and happy to see he's back to his best, an absolute joy to watch recently. A really refreshing, articulate and level headed young guy when you hear him speak too which is at odds with my perception of him a couple of years ago, which was admittedly unfounded.
  4. The point still stands, breaking records at youth level means next to nothing in terms of making it as a top player. Maybe the question to ask is why Iheanacho has never had a long enough run of matches. He lacks in far more than just confidence.
  5. No chance, come January 30th he'll take a few irn-bru empties and some tracksuits!
  6. John McGinn too, although he was from Hibs.
  7. Sylla is an odd one he was actually a very decent squad player for Celtic, he actually done really well when he came in and played at various points in our run to the UEFA cup final.
  8. Robbie Neilson Patrick Kisnorbo Joe Hamill Mark De Vries Alan Maybury I've always hated Levein. Fun fact he's never won a single trophy ever as a player or manager. Get it up him.
  9. Word is he's isolating as he was a close contact of Ntcham who has covid. Whether it's true or not who knows.
  10. Oh god! He was an absolutlely horrific keeper at Celtic. Had we had someone who wasn't a complete calamity in goal in the UEFA cup final we'd have beaten Porto.
  11. That's exactly what I am saying though, he's not good enough at EPL level, especially not for a team in the top 4 and I'll eat my hat if he ever is. Has the past four years not sufficed in terms of "seeing where he's at"? Four years is being very patient, he's not a scapegoat he's just not very good, based on weirdly enough performancs he has put in, in the four years he's been here. Bojan broke every record going at youth level, it means nothing, nor can you put much credence on coming off the bench and scoring a few goals for Man City nearly five years ago.
  12. 4 years is too quick to right him off?! Seeing what stage a 25 year old is at who cost £20 odd million, has been at the club for four years and has never been good enough to play semi-regularly and is probably on about 60k a week? Fine if your 19 or 20 but not someone who should be an experienced player by now. Time to cut your losses on him and get some money while you still can.
  13. Like @Kilworthfox alluded to, you have to see evidence of potential, even in flashes. I can't see anything he's overly good at so to suggest he'll ever be a regular at Leicester, let alone replace the club's greatest ever striker and one of the best in EPL history is far fetched to say the least. We're talking about a guy wh is 25 this year, not a 19 or 20 year old. Potential shouldn't even be getting discussed now. The fact he's been at the club for what almost four years now and your suggesting he has to go somewhere else to play for a bit to see if he's good enough completely contradicts your initial statement of even suggesting he could replace Vardy. Rodgers barely trusts him enough to rest Vardy unless it's cup games.
  14. Come on now Vardy replacement
  15. Silly boy, he should have came to Celtic when he had the chance What's he going to even do with all that money anyway
  16. Can't believe you missed out Joe Hamill, he came back up here and ended up playing amateur level
  17. There is no chance there'll even be a move to sign Ings, he would cost an absolute fortune and there is virtually zero re-sale on him.
  18. As great a player as Ings is given his age and current club I don't think this would be of value in terms of a transfer at all and would also fly in the face of the club's recrutment model. Ironically, he'd probably get a fair amount of game time now back at Liverpool given they only really have Firmino and Origi doesn't seem to be trusted any longer. Not that it'll happen of course.
  19. Neither probably, he's more similar in style to someone like Thierry Henry. There's a post earlier in this thread where I explain in a bit of detail this.
  20. Zlatan is going to play every week if fit, they've just signed Mandzukic so you imagine he'll be second choice, which would leave Edouard at best third choice for one striking spot. It would be a poor move on that basis alone and he probably wouldn't play anywhere near enough whether it be coming off the bench or starting games. Leicester would be a far better move.
  21. No one was annoyed when Rodgers left, the players anyway. Both Brown and Tierney interviewed publicly in the days after he left and waxed lyrical about him and have done ever since.
