  1. He'll have Zlatan, Mandzukic, Leao and Rebic all to fight with for one starting place though. I don't think Milan would be a wise career choice for him at the moment with that in mind.
  2. All depends on which clubs seriously want you. For me top of the list would be, somewhere you can get sufficient game time, improve and a manager who trusts you. If whatever club that is, is also successful then even better. Leicester are one of very few clubs that will tick all those boxes.
  3. I'm not so sure, at his age it'd be a lot of money for a striker that is in all honesty a poor finisher who may not improve all that much in that sense, which I expect is why he's still at Bilbao. There are better more valuable options out there if you ask me.
  4. It's not agents, it's the daily record just blatantly making things up again. Wouldn't wipe my arse with it let alone pay any attention to anything therein.
  5. He's not getting near the madrid side! The record is an absolute rag, they said this exact same thing about Dembele and Zidane a few years ago too.
  6. Enrages me some of the posts on this thread about Toney when we (Celtic) had him in the palm of our hands in the summer and Lawell being the uber tight arse he is was deternmined to haggle over a couple of million quid and we went and signed fat arse Ajeti instead.
  7. The latter has struggled at Lille this season. Seen him quite a few times and he's been guff.
  8. Inaki Williams although quick and direct and a decent player overall is an appallingly bad finisher.
  9. There's not been too much in the way of speculation in his window so far about him, in Scotland anyway. It's more a gut feeling I have given our season is done and Lawell will be desperate to get as much money as possible for him with his contract running down. Every decision he makes has money at the centre of it. Arsenal have long been reported to have an interest in him and recently AC Milan. I don't think the latter would be a good move for him though given they already have Zlatan, Leao, Rebic and they are now signing Mandzukic. I just get the impression that if he was available Rodgers would be keen to work with him again and Edouard similar. Add in the fact he'll cost around 50% of what we would have been asking this time last year and it's a deal that makes sense.
  10. Under promise and over deliver is always the way to be publicly. Rodgers is being clever here. I'd be surprised if Edouard isn't a Leicester player come the end of the window.
  11. good theory but I think it may cost a fair few quid that!
  12. They're very different types of striker but based on what I've seen of both of them I'd say Edouard has every chance of reaching a similar level to Dembele if he keeps developing.
  13. Couldn't agree more. Our whole model, when it works well involves attracting players on the basis that if they stay here a couple of years and do well then it's a platforn to the riches of the EPL. It suits both the club and the player when this happens. Add in the fact we are a fairly big club (playing in a shit league) with regular 50-60k crowds, regular European football and Scotland is a decent stepping stone move for young players with potential who want regular football as they develop and try and make their way to the EPL.
  14. Gray and Choudhry I would happily take tbh, think both would do well up here. Choudhry in paricular would be tailor made for Scottish football I reckon. Whether they'd come is an entirely different question of course. Iheancho. No thanks.
  15. Nail struck firmly on the head sir!
  16. It's better than having to read the Celtic forum I go on at the moment tbh
  17. Edouard, McGregor, anyone else you want They are the only two that could perform at EPL level tbf. I can't see McGregor happening at the moment for a number of reasons. He'd jump at the chance of the move personally I'd think but we have him on a long contract and would want £20m for him. Can't see Leicester signing him and Edouard this window. Summer may be more realistic, whether it's to Leicester or wherever else I don't know. There have been a couple of german sides after him in the past for example, Monchengladbach for one. I'd love our rebuild to be centred round McGregor and for us to keep him for the rest of his career but I think he'll want away in the summer and I wouldn't grudge him it either. He's won everything there is to win up here many times over, given us amazing service and he'll want a new challenge when he's still in his peak years. I'd love to see him go to a top league and do well as he's been such a great servant and player for us.
  18. I definitely think it's had a longer term effect on him, he's lost a ton of weight since it like I said previously. At the price he's going to be available at, circa £15m I imagine I reckon there'll be a number of clubs who'd take him off our hands at that price so you'd have to be careful about missing out.
  19. Absoluely not true, most of his career he's played up front on his own. He played with Griffiths for a spell last season and linked up with him well but he's equally comfortable playing up front on his own.
  20. I think he most definitely would, there's no real ego with him, he's really laid back and a real positive character in the squad by all accounts.
  21. Edouard leaving is way down the list of things making the Celtic fans unhappy this season, if you've been following our season and seen the regular demo's outside the ground, statements from fans groups, etc you'll see what I mean.
  22. Same agency yeah, not sure if it's the same exact agent. I've said it a couple of times before but up until the last week Edouard never really had an agent in the truest sense of the word. It was a couple of his mates from where he grew up that 'represented' him, hence when we sgned him we managed to get him to sign a contract that was worth pennies, he's on less than 10k per week at the moment.
