  1. Did you see the 25 man squad listed the other day? Who would drop out to make way for these 2/3 other players? You've already signed Under so your already a wide player up in terms of numbers. You've replaced Chilwell and Gray hasn't left yet. I think given the amount of injuries you've had of late and how you've performed would suggest that depth is in fact there. To win games the way you have thus far this season minus Evans, Ndidi, Ricardo, Maddison (not fully fit) suggests the squad depth is good.
  2. I don't get why people go on about Ghezzal, Silva and Slimani being any sort of loss. They haven't been in the 25 squad for years, they aren't going to be in it this season. They are Leicester players contractually only, they're departure has zero bearing on squad depth as they never even train with the first team let alone play. "Replacing" these guys is an absolute fallacy.
  3. Nothing to do with that. Soyuncu has cash in the bank and has proved he can and has excelled at this level. Justin still has it all to prove so there are obviously going to be more doubts and criticism towards someone like him as many are yet to see if he's capable of being good enough at this level.
  4. Quicker Ricardo comes back and Timmy can be moved to LB the better. Have serious doubts whether Justin is good enough to play regularly at this level, he's ok going forward but you can't carry a guy in your team who gives away goals as easily as he does.
  5. Not seen the match yet, recorded and will watch later but I think a bit of perspective is needed. Last week people are starting threads saying, "how far can this side go", going on about having one of the best squads in the league now this week everyone is shit again. The truth is obviously slap bang in the middle, people need to calm down and look at the bigger picture, ok no one wants done 3-0 off West Ham but to start the season with 9/12 anyone on this forum would have grabbed that with both hands in the last week of August.
  6. Pukki was always going to run out of steam as Norwich were so poor and would ultimately revert to that. Everton look a decent side and DCL looks like he's starting to realise his potential.
  7. Nah nowhere near consistent enough, especially given the wages he'll want.
  8. Double whammy for me as doubt they'll be going for Ntcham now either.
  9. Yeah I'm not saying that any bid for a big player you accept but there comes a time in the EPL particularly when it's daft not to accept the kind of offers you've had for Chilwell and Maguire, particularly when you've been able to replace both with better players with less than 50% of what you brought in. Maddison for example, a daft £60m+ offer for him and he could be replaced effectively by someone on the continent. The bones of my point is had you not sold Maguire and Chilwell in the last two windows you'd probably be weaker on the whole. It makes sense to sell a player most summers for big money and reinvest.
  10. Neither do a lot of clubs but it's a smart model if done well and Leicester are doing it very well. Look at the clubs across Europe below the elite ones who are successful, they all follow this approach and there is no shame in it, it allows these type of clubs to punch above their weight. This season may be an exception due to Covid but it looks like you actually needed the cash from the Chilwell sale this summer to fund purchases. Celtic are the exact same on a smaller scale and it's worked great for us also. I'd actually like us to sell Ajer or Ntcham before this window shuts so we can reinvest and then next summer (at the earliest) it will be Edouard and on we go again.
  11. Aah wasn't aware of that re: Ricardo's contract. If you could tie him down that's the full back positions looking great for a number of years with him and Timmy!
  12. Yeah good shout, forgot about him. Yeah Ricardo is class, thing that may go against him though is most sides above Leicester in the league already have strong right backs. Given his age I think if you pay him well he may be one you could buck the trend with and keep.
  13. All depends on what the big sides need. Could be any one of Soyuncu, Ricardo, Barnes or Maddison. One thing that makes me think Soyuncu will have a lot of admirers though is the speculation with clubs like Barcelona this summer and the fact there aren't many centre back's around who are as good as him at the moment. He walks into probably every side in the EPL. Someone like Maddison for example doesn't.
  14. It's the model though right, a big sale every summer and re-invest. Look at this window, selling Chilwell has allowed to improve the squad massively. Maddison has a bit to do before bigger sides start looking at him seriously again imo.
  15. Not being a prophet of doom but Soyuncu could be next summer's big sale.
  16. Been a superb window when you think of the three players brought in. All three should prove to be definite upgrades to the starting eleven, Castagne already is, Fofana will be in time and able to contricbute already and Under looks to have a decent pedigree.
  17. Only an hour, kick off times are 17:55 and 20:00.
  18. There's still country protection in the last 32. After that you can get anyone though.
  19. Great news. Can't get that Etta James song out of my head.... "Aaaaat Laaaaaassst!"
  20. Quite happy with the group tbh, we've had tougher ones in recent years like when we got both Red Bull sides. Milan aren't the side they once were, we beat a better side in Lazio home and away last season. Sparta Prague aren't a great side, I'd much rather them than Slavia or for example yourselves or Sociedad from Pot 2. Lille will be the best side in the group and the toughest nut to crack but we done well against Rennes last season who finished in a similar position in Ligue 1 last season when we played them. Some tough games for sure but quite exciting ones at the same time.
  21. Rodgers should know all about them, we played them in the CL qualifiers when he was manager!
  22. They save that for the Champions league, usually have Reshmin Choudury looking glamorous!
