The only doubts I have with Benkovic are his fitness. If he could sort that there's absolutely no doubt in my mind he's an EPL centre back and a very good one at that. We had Denayer on loan at us a number of years back, someone a number of people on here advocated signing this summer. Denayer was terrific for us but Benkovic was twice the player he was, judging them both in a Celtic shirt.

Agree with this, he really needs to at least try and get a full season of game under his belt somewhere.

If this is true and he's going for that sort of money we should be all over that. Sell Ajer to some daft clu for £20m and then go and sign Benkovic.

We'd be interested in Benkovic I'm sure but I don't think there's any chance of us selling McGregor this summer.

He'd be a good signing, from what I've saw of him he's tailor made for the premier league. A bit different type of player to him but I could see him having a similar impact to someone like Jimenez at Wolves.

Agreed, it's got a lot better in the last few years in terms of the standard of clubs and in a normal year there is the opportunity to go on some great trips to great places. I've made peace with the fact that we (Celtic) are en EL club and no longer a CL club despite the former being less glamorous and less financially lucrative than the CL. The concept of getting utterly spanked by the elite clubs for whatever financial gain has worn thin. I also think the gap between the elite and the rest has got even wider the last few years. Before it was just pot 4 teams in the main who got pastings but sides like Bayern are routinely horsing clubs with a lot of resources now like Chelsea, Spurs, etc.

That'd be a really difficult group, could be argued possibly CL level. Each to their own of course but I'd always favour the easiest group possible. A lot of Celtic fans are the same in the CL with wanting glamour ties but I'm the opposite, I don't enjoy watching us getting spanked Not saying Leicester would get spanked in that group of course but it's conceivable you may not get out of it.

He'd be good competition for Maddison and the. fact he can play anywhere across the attacking 3 midfield positions means he'd add depth to the squad. Someone like him isn't a priority but at £15m he may be too good to miss out on at that price.

Cantwell would be very much of value at £15m.

I hadn't seen an awful lot of Mendy prior to little bits last season and this season but have to say he looks a very decent footballer.
