  1. Not if there are a few clubs after him and they can get more money. Like @Ric Flair says, what you say would cost about £70m and even worse still paying for a player you aren't even getting right away. More chance of Rodgers coming back to Celtic this summer than that happening!
  2. Do you really think that's realistic given the way St Etienne have played hard ball and the fact they have publicly stated how desperate they are for cash now.
  3. Going by Rodgers comments about the budget I don't think it would be work. I also think it would be daft given the immediate demand for beefing up the squad now to cope with the extra demands of European football this season.
  4. Yeah especially one that isn't going to play for a year if he's loaned back to his parent club as in the post I was replying to.
  5. Would cost a fair old wedge overall that. Chances of that happening are very slim if you ask me.
  6. He's been benched because he's been awful since the first two league games of the season and Ajeti has been on fire.
  7. Costa is completely injury prone though, if he signs they'll be lucky to get 15 starts out of him in the league. He's been a sicknote everywhere he's been.
  8. I've seen tons of Akanji and he's not the greatest in all honesty, Dortmund leak goals like a sieve and he'sa very reactionary defender who relies on his pace to get him out of trouble which he gets into frequently. Can do better than him imo.
  9. Was busy after Celtic game today so not seen the match yet (recorded) but from reading a lot of the discussion on here this seems as if it could be a real watershed moment for Rodgers and I mean that in a good way. It sounds like he really altered the approach based on the opposition for once, particularly against the elite sides. Excellent.
  10. Probably a far more effective recruitment strategy than what they typically employ.
  11. Not heard a peep mate since a few weeks ago when was told be a fairly reliable source a bid would go in. Obviously that hasn’t materialised.
  12. Criminal fiscal mismanagement to sell an English U21 international with a fair bit of EPL experience at his age for that sort of money.
  13. Tbh in the EPL bubble far worse players have went for far more money. Think on guys like Ibe, Solanke and a good few others.
  14. Agree with this, this deal smacks of the EPL premium being whacked on and then some to the fee. £40m for a guy that's had 1 season in senior football and started less than 20 games screams risk to me.
  15. Spot on. Hardly blue sky thinking not wanting the club being held to ransom.
  16. Yeah very much agreed, he'd be a really good for Scottish football given how physical he is.
  17. I probably would yeah but I doubt we could pay his wages.
  18. Yeah I fail to see his logic here. Can't get a game ahead of Albrighton and Perez most weeks but somehow is then meant to oust folk like Bergwijn, Son, Moura, etc. I don't think so. A club like Southampton or somewhere like that would be a really good move for him in terms of getting a chance to play regularly.
  19. Yeah he can play as a 6, 8 or 10 all pretty effectively.
  20. Yeah and we get to send you McGregor at the end of this season, deal
  21. One thing I like about him that may have gone unnoticed is that although he's still got quite a bit of physical development to go he's actually quite robust and determined and it's a struggle to knock him off the ball. There were a couple of senior players who could have taken a leaf out his book in that regard the other night. In football a lot of the time it's not about inherent strength but determination.
  22. If Carlsberg done centre back recruitment
  23. Yeah your right, read last night PSG are after him.
