  1. Haha Lee's best mate! Big Marv! Nah we paid him off, he's retired now I believe. Good question, I don't think he'd be welcomed back anytime soon but I reckon in a few years, if we were at a low ebb and needed someone to come in and revitalise the place then I think people would be willing to put how he left to one side and accept him back. Let's be honest, we're not going to be able to attract a manager of his level very often so we'd be stupid to bite off our nose to spite our face.
  2. Jack Hendry is the very definition of broken so £12m and he's all yours Brendan!
  3. We went through a phase of this at Celtic (not under Brendan tbf) of signing strikers with horrific stats and then wondering why they struggled to score goals. Oddly one of which was Teemu Pukki.
  4. Nail on head. The time to go for these players is before they go to Brighton.
  5. Yeah a few soon as he arrived, Commons being the most notable. Yeah the Spurs link was always a bit fanciful, he's not good enough to get on their bench either.
  6. I Think if you get a decent offer, say in the region of £15m he's gone given he looks intent on running his contract down. He made very little contribution last season and he's struggling to even make the match day squads at the moment so I don't think his exit would be much of a factor at all.
  7. Came on as a sub though. I think the ship has sailed with Demiral unfortunately, I can see him playing at least 20 games for Juve this season fitness permitting.
  8. I think Mendy has done well in the two games he's played this season. Describing him as make shift is a mile off imo.
  9. I wouldn't be hasty, Praet in particular has started the season great. The team, and players should have the jersey on merit and at the moment Praet is a first pick.
  10. A centre back is an absolute must before the end of the window.
  11. Bang on re: Burnley. I'll never understand folk on here who expect them to come out and play Tiki Taka, plain daft. They play to their strenghths and in doing that punch way above their weight which should be comended.
  12. There's nothing wrong with calling a spade a spade. He looks good going forward, but defensively he's a bit of a liability and I'm basing that not just on tonight but having given away a couple of goals post lockdown also. Yes, give him time to develop and let him make mistakes but equally, whatever age he is he can't be persevered with if he's giving goals away regularly and being very naive as he was tonight. If he's giving goals away he should be criticised as anyone else would be. I'm not saying he's giving goals away consistently just yet btw but the warning signs are there. Hopefully it's the catalyst for him to iron that out though.
  13. Positives: The belgian mob were different class Barnes was different gravy as I've banged on about since I joined this forum Great performance in terms of going forward Great start to the season on the whole, picking up points against these sides was a struggle so far in 2020 so hopefully the tide has turned Negatives: Gave too much away at the back and a better side would have punished those mistakes Justin was poor individually for both goals lost. Question marks remain over his defensive capabilities. A centre back is sorely needed, one more injury there and things look ropey. Added to that the lack of one is making you do without your best midfielder at the moment also.
  14. I think Evans is being missed at the moment, his composure and ability to read the game at the back. As good as this has been going forward there's been a fair few problems defensively and a strike force more mobile than Wood and Rodriguez would have punished more of the mistakes.
  15. Totally different player for me,Praet is more of a 6 who dictates the tempo and keeps the ball moving, the other two are 8's, with Maddison arguably most effective even further up the pitch as a 10.
  16. Justin looks like an EPL player going forward and a championship player defensively. Needs to really improve the latter.
  17. Could be any of the Belgians or Barnes, all been excellent.
  18. Praet is a tidy footballer, will never let you down, not the most glamorous but a solid 6-8/10 most weeks.
