I’d be seriously worried if the plan is to sign McGregor to play left back, he can do so half competently in Scotland but the EPL is a different ball game.

A couple of times, never went well though, Rodgers done it at Ibrox and we lost then Lennon done it against Cluj last season which never ended well either.

He played more minutes than any player in world football for a couple of seasons, regularly plays 60+ games a season. He’ll get more downtime playing with Leicester in that regard. He’s left footed also, has never played nor could play RB in his life.

Agree with all the logic, Rodgers has a penchant for signing loads of midfielders though above all else. Was the same at Celtic, we needed a RB and a CB desperately for a few windows and we just signed more midfielders.

He wanted to go last summer but at the same time didn’t want to force the move. He basically admitted that publicly himself.

So would I but it doesn't mean you never paid over the odds for him. Slimani, Ghezzal and Silva aren't signings you can describe as paying over the odds for, they are just bad signings. Perez has been a decent enough signing but based on his contribution you've paid over the odds for him.

Tbf it worked last time they done this with Neves and unlike at Valencia the Mendes arrangement has worked very well for them overall.
