  1. It's buying players from EPL clubs where you ran greater risk of paying over the odds, see Perez.
  2. 20m for a guy that averages less than 10 goals per season in the EPL, has struggled with injury of late and at 28 has little improvement in him. No thanks.
  3. Douglas Costa is an absolute sick note and should be avoided. Bernadeschio hos day is a terrific player however he suffers from inconsistency, that said I still think he’d be worth signing.
  4. We tried to sign him a couple of times, may still be on Congerton’s “list”. Either that or lazy journalism. Looked a good player any time I’ve watched him tbh.
  5. Absolutely spot on, couldn't agree more.
  6. All not rosy at the 'Am going by Mark Nobles latest tweet https://twitter.com/Noble16Mark/stat...76790085312514
  7. I think he looks a very clever player tbh any time I've seen him.
  8. Like you allude to, someone like Fofana would be the ideal type of signing.
  9. I think in today's market that's value for Benrahma.
  10. Yeah and you guys are the opposite of that, a side that play a high percentage possession game. I get every signing on the continent isn't going to be as successful as Soyuncu but he embodies the model that works for Leicester, almost half the price of Tarkowski but more than twice the player.
  11. 30m far too much for Tarkowski imo. An average player, playing for an average side in Burnley who can't get in the England side ahead of average players like Michael Keane. Given his age little to no imporvement or sell on in him also. Far better value to be found on the conitnent imo.
  12. I'd agree with this, he could be exactly the right type of signing if Rodgers can get a tune out of him again and he can even look close to the player he was like at Monaco. Atletico Madrid was completely the wrong move for him.
  13. I think for your highest paid manager in your history, with the highest wage bill in your history you can expect slightly better than record home and away defeats in Europe and losing to a team of part time players from Gibraltar. Like I said, it's not just Celtic, he struggled against some absolutely average teams when he took Liverpool into Europe too.
  14. It wasn't really, we suffered our record home and away defeats under Rodgers. We've had our poor moments across several managers but each manager has hod notable results to point to in Europe, memorable ones, beating Barcelona under Lennon first time around, beating Man Utd and AC Milan with Strachan and more than I care to mention under O'Neill. Our first game under Rodgers in Europe was great, a 3-3 draw with Man City where we played excellent and then after that as good as it got was meh with a few absolute hammerings in between. He set us up shambolicly in Europe, constantly said our approach was to play "without fear" which meant matching up to the likes of PSG and Barcelona and try and beat them at their own game. I'll never forget us trying to pass through PSG's press of Neymar, Mbappe and Cavani in our own box over in Paris and getting utterly humped 7-1. His approach and record in Europe was the polar opposite to how successful he was with us domestically. He was a shambles in Europe with Liverpool also. He's too arrogant and/or naive and won't cater whatsoever for the opposition, thinks he can play his way or it's the highway and it doesn't work in Europe as you have to adapt and vary your approach based on opposition, home/away, etc.
  15. I don't think he's anything special personally, I wasn't advocating signing him just more I wouldn't be surprised if it happened.
  16. No real basis to it other than a hunch tbh. Rodgers tried to get him on loan at Celtic twice.
  17. I think Benrahma is going to be a star in all honesty.
  18. I really think you guys will sign Harry Wilson.
  19. Shaqiri on his day is a good player, the problem is his day is once every 5 or 6 games, it's been that way everywhere he's been and it's why he's sturggled for regular football pretty much his whole career bar his time at Stoke. If it were me I'd rather gamble on the inconsistency of someone younger, with more room to develop and will in time iron out such inconsistency.
  20. Nor me, despite coming across as an absolute twonk in the Liverpool documentary from years ago!
  21. Only thing I'd say is there were four or five others he tried to take with hm at Celtic but didn't go, John Kennedy and Stevie Woods being the two most high profile ones.
  22. Thanks for the thread migration admin! Apologies!
  23. Yeah a position that he was by and large garbage in. A RM to me is someone that plays right side of midfield in a 4-4-2 which you guys most definitely did not play. Anyway we are digressing, the point is, don't ruin one of the best full backs in the world by trying to turn him into a winger please.
