  1. I've not heard the exact reason. I don't think his head has been turned as he's had interest from all the elite clubs for years and always comes across as a very grounded young guy. Part of me thinks standards have slipped under Lennon and he's getting less emphasis on his own personal development.
  2. If you guys are going to play 3-5-2 I'd imagine in next to Ndidi but then you have the issue of where does Tielemans play. McGregor is the sort of player who would probably end up playing 25-35 games a season filling in across various positions mind you such is his versatility.
  3. I wouldn't be surprised at all tbh, Leicester would be a far smarter move for him than Man City or something like that anyway.
  4. It would be a bit hypocritical of me to moan about it tbh given how we got Dembele but I agree, looking at it objectively there should probably be a happier and fairer medium in terms of compensation.
  5. I watched quite a lot of games last season and I'd agree with this. This is where you expect the 200l a week manager to come up with a system that gets the best out of both of them most weeks. It was a joke shunting Maddioson out left, he'd have been as well dropping him as he was about as effective as an ashtray on a motorbike out there.
  6. I think if he went cross border the fee would be peanuts. It'd be similar to when we picked up Moussa Dembele for Fulham, because it was cross border I think the development fee was a mere 300k or something.
  7. Tbf Rodgers tried to sign him last summer so it's hardly without foundation. Him and McGregor allegedly love each other as well, on a profoessional level of course.
  8. There are more apart from Van Dijk in recent years, in fact I'd wager all of them bar hooper would have done a more than decent job for Leicester had they signed at the time each prospective player moved.Tierney is the latest example, he'd have been a great replacement for Chilwell and signed a year in advance you'd be sitting pretty just now with £25m banked and arguably a better player than Chilwell as his replacement. He'd had definitely followed Rodgers as well. Then there are others who have moved from clubs other than Celtic, McGinn and Roberston for example that'd definitely enhance the Leicester squad. Then there's Dembele who went to France who would have been a snip at £20m for you guys and is now way off the radar and completely unattainable. The SPFL is a poor league overall, anyone who says it isn't is lying but that doesn't mean there aren't any diamonds in the rough. Like I've said before, you can turn your nose up at it and go and shop in Portugal again and have your pants removed to the tune of £50m. That same £50m would have got you VVD, Tierney and John McGinn so go figure.
  9. He's a £20m player no more, no less.
  10. Yeah he’s a great character tbh, not the sort to act up or anything like that.
  11. I’m not disagreeing with any of that but that exact scenario you articulate could very well lead to a stalemate, a stalemate we are perhaps seeing just now. Hopefully not and everyone is working together behind the scenes and some decent business is done over the course of the next month.
  12. The thing is though in terms of recruitment Rodgers has never “soared”, Congerton is a diddy and has been everywhere he’s been. If your logic is sound then Rodgers would simply surround himself with the recruitment team that is already in place at Leicester, which has been sound and successful. The elephant in the room with all this with regards transfers is Rodgers ego so logic goes out the window in that sense.
  13. It could be shite yes, but my point is, equally it couldn't when you look at the prior history and the lack of activity thus far this summer.
  14. It's not beyond the realms of possibility though, Rodgers ahs previous for this then you add in the lack of activity in the window thus far and you could see some sense in it. If Rodgers was happy working within the current recruitment structure all along then why bring in his mate, the almighty twat that is Congerton.
  15. As much as I think he'll leave I'd be really surprised if Edouard put in a transfer request.
  16. Due to the age restrictions he's only got a year to go on his deal, we offered him as long a contract as we were allowed to when he was 18. I imagine any team will wait until the end of the season and sign him for free then.
  17. He signed new deals at both Liverpool and Celtic under the same pretences and similar situations unfolded tbf. If someone says they are going to double your wage to £200k or thereabouts per week your going to sign it regardless I imagine. Lets be clear here Rodgers needs Leicester as much as they need him despite what his ego will tell him. He makes an arse of this and starts rubbing his bosses up the wrong way again he’s done in the premier league. Like many have said there’s little credence on what Rodgers done at Celtic outside Scotland.
  18. I think he'll have plenty of options, all the big European sides have been chasing him for years, he's already representing England at international level, his big brother plays for Peterborough I think so going down south wouldn't really be a big upheavel for him and his family. I'd imagine if he did leave it would be to Man City given our link up with them.
  19. Feels lke a movie I've seen before. It would be insane to give Rodgers full control of transfers. This is where his ego can become a real problem.
  20. Yeah I don't think he's anywhere near ready for first team football yet, even in Scotland but because we are probably terrified of losing him he's been fasttracked to the first team. Going to one of the European giants would be suicide for him as he'd be miles off getting near their first team at the moment. Financially it may make more sense though for him.
  21. Yeah he's been on the bench regularaly this season but hasn't been seen the last few weeks and the word is he's also not signing a new contract. This was my fear re appointing Lennon again, standards and professionalism would slip and going by a number of rumours it seems to be that way again. He's came on a couple of times this season but if he's going to have a chance of making it he really needs to develop physically, still looks very much like a young boy playing a mans game.
  22. We've sold 55k season tickets this season so we won't really be down on match day revenue all that much weirdly but agree on the general point, we ain't going to or able to pay an EPL players wages in their prime.
  23. I already said the moving to Celtic part was a moot point. We're talking about someon who is almost 24 here, not a teenager, if you've not been a regular at any club you've been at by that age your development and potential will suiffer.
  24. He was a rolls Royce defensively up here. Competent at everything and I know the league is poorer but we’ve had some very good centre backs over the past wee while who have went and done well in Europe and he looked every inch as good as them.
