Any idea the sorta of cash being talked about for Brooks? If he could re-capture his pre injury form he’d be a very good signing.

I guess it’s all about opinions mate but having seen a fair bit of Iheanacho and having watched Edouard every week I’d have to say Edouard is in a different class. I’d really worry if Vardy missed say ten games with injury and you had to rely on iheanacho from the start week in week out. I also think Rodgers really doesn’t fancy him which is quite telling.

You’d be forgiven for thinking that but Edouard was a lawell signing, he’s always been cosy with the PSG owner and we’ve had a few players from them over recent years. When we got him on loan initially it was actually really out of the blue on the last day of the transfer window as cover as we had only one fit striker at the time.

Yeah I’m pretty sure both clubs have around 15-20k on waiting lists for season tickets so like you say the club has current season ticket holders by the balls as they are scared of losing their seats.

Yeah, tbh I think context is key this season, has we not been going for ten in a row this season I think we would have sold maybe 10k or so less.

Tierney went for £25m up front last summer, hes the most, that’s why it dragged on so long as Celtic insisted on all the money up front.

Yeah it’s not ideal but what can you do.

Club were upfront about it tbf and fans were told before renewing. We got refunded for cancelled games from last season. Gate money is pretty much all our income so club have asked fans to make a quite monumental gesture to keep the club going on what could be a historic season and we’ve reciprocated. As long as money is spent on the team and we deliver the 10 the fans will be happy.

I’m a season ticket holder, terms and conditions were clear, no refund this season if fans don’t make it into grounds, it’s sol as a virtual pass for that reason with no immediate expectations beyond that.

I understand all that, the point I was trying to make is the relative strength of the league by and large doesn’t have a great deal of relevance in whether signings turn out to be successful, it’s far more subtle than that.

The point is though Riccardo is the exception rather than the rule when you take Portugal as an example. You've spent what, circa £70m in Portugal on transfer fees alone, discounting wages, which has got you a very good right back and two duds who have barely played, who you are still paying and can't get anyone to take off your hands.
