  1. The risk there is he has been injuted for a very long time and will he be the same player when he returns.
  2. Hmmm I dunno, I don’t think he’s cut out athletically for the EPL, I know Newcastle are/were a basket case but he stunk the place out there.
  3. Yeah fair points mate, know exactly what you mean. It is exactly like you say, one week your the best thing since sliced bread and the next week you can be in the gutter.
  4. I think he's still got a bit to go before he's coveted among top clubs in Europe tbh, sealing fourth place and making a decent fist of European competition for the first time in his career next season and he then can be spoke about in that way.
  5. He looks a superb player, sticks out like a sore thumb in a poor side.
  6. Breaking news in Germany seems to say they are making a serious move for Havertz. If that happens can see this one being put on ice. Would be quite an audacious swoop if they managed to get Havertz, pretty much the hottest property in Europe at the moment.
  7. It’s a tough one, they are quite different types of strikers. Dembele seems to have went up a level since he’s went to Lyon and overcome his hamstring issues. At the moment the Edouard of the last 6 months is hitting heights even beyond what Dembele did at Celtic, but it’s hard to say how good Dembele is now in comparison as he’s playing in a stronger league in France. In the fullness of time I really can’t split them in terms of who will go on to be the better player, they are both different class.
  8. They have some very tidy players, really like Neuhaus in the middle of the park also. Although getting on a bit now Stindl is a fantastic player also, seen him put on a masterclass at Celtic Park against us under Rodgers.
  9. I really can’t see it happening but Dembele would be a sensational signing, he’s tailor made for the EPL.
  10. Yeah that was the same summer where he had the China offer and was trying to convince Dembele to go there with him also.
  11. Hopefully this is lazy journalism. I don’t see how Tarkowski makes Leicester any better and he’d probably cost about £40m wirh next to no resale value. I’d rather go down the Soyuncu route again than pay inflated EPL fees for average players.
  12. There was more to it than that, he accused Rodgers of going back on a promise (similar to the Sterling and Suarez scenarios) and outed the fact Rodgers tried to convince him to go to Brighton in January then take him to China with him in the summer yet when Lyon bid Rodgers initially said he couldn’t go.
  13. Sorry to bust anyone’s bubble but there is no chance of this, he hates Rodgers after the way things unfolded when he left Celtic and was pretty disparaging about him again on social media when Rodgers left Celtic.
  14. The reason in this case would be as it may allow you to sign a player you really want to add to the squad and reduce what you have to pay for him. Given his injury issues I’d imagine if you got a decent deal, in any scenario at the moment to cut your losses and recoup what you paid for him you’d bite the hand off any prospective buyer. Speculating of getting £20m and the likes for him is fantasy given his predicament.
  15. He only started a few games for Bristol City before the season stopped. I’d be pretty amazed if they moved to sign him permanently yet.
  16. This sounds more realistic to me.
  17. You aren’t getting £20m for Benkovic off anyone soongiven his injury record come on. In fact Celtic probably one of the few clubs who at the present moment would take him in a heartbeat on a permanent deal given how good he was for us.
  18. Yeah I understand that and have seen it with plenty of players at Celtic, McGregor, Forrest, etc, etc. This looks different to me though really naive stuff that wasn’t too visible in his game prior to last season.
  19. For Edouard?! That wouldn’t be a good deal for Celtic! He’s rated in the £30-35m range and will have a number of suitors. I’m not having a £20m valuation for Benkovic given you signed him for £12m and he hasn’t kicked a ball for Leicester and I’m a big fan of Benkovic as most will know.
  20. He had an excellent season the season before last but he regressed a lot this season and has had a very poor season. I wouldn’t even say he’s stalled this season but regressed. A year ago I would have been waxing lyrical about him no doubt as he had a great season and I thought he’d kick on and develop further but it just hasn’t happened.
  21. Was more to do with the reported fees for Ajer tbh, £22m and the likes, that would be an absolute mugging off lol!
  22. I’d hope so, I’d certainly love to have him back! Disappointed all the Ajer + Benkovic + cash rumours have disappeared tbh lol, that would have been an incredible deal for us!
  23. If he were to leave Celtic, at a boardroom level we would be as keen to do business with Leicster as we would with any other EPL club, it’s not a factor imo.
  24. Not very often in all honesty. However, the plan was to play Dembele and Edouard together in his last season and they looked devastating in pre-season in that shape. However, both got injured and missed our CL qualifier and we got put out and as a result Dembele got sold. I really think if we had kept both of them for that season we could have got to the latter stages of the Europa League. Another game that sticks in the mind was when we went to Ibrox and went 2-1 down and had a player sent off, we brought Edouard off the bench and played him and Dembele up front together and they tormented them and we won 3-2 with both scoring. That really was a tactical master stroke by Rodgers that day, most managers in that situation would have brought on a defensive player not another attacker.
  25. I’d agree with this, when Rodgers was at Celtic we had Dembele, Griffiths and Edouard all on the books at the one time.
